Multiple sources close to the situation have confirmed to SI Sooners that plans are being made for OU athletic director Joe Castiglione to stage an introductory press conference on Sunday or possibly early Monday.

It's unknown when an announcement could be made, although it is believed OU could break the news as early as Saturday before introducing the new coach on Sunday.

experts on this board should have some stabs at this to make up for the 'sure things' over the last month.

Is Bob Stoops totally out of the picture?

ETA: Maybe even Mark Stoops?

I have a friend of mine who is an OU fan. He text me last night that it’s Dabo. He’s no insider, so I assume he’s getting the info from a paid site.

Hope OU opens the checkbook, probably take a Kelly/Riley type deal to get him there. It would be interesting to see him playing real competition on a weekly basis and see how good he is instead of playing Tulane every week.

Sounds like bs. Clemson has given Dabo everything he's asked for facility wise and money for assistants. He is a God there. I dont think there are any underlying issues between clemson and Dabo. Also, Venables and Dabos kids are on clemsons team and staff right?

Yes, but didn't the Clemson AD leave for Miami or was that just message board clutter? If the Clemson AD left, it makes this rumor more plausible.

If Clemson loses Dabo, Venables, and their AD, they are headed for mediocrity fast.

This year is turning into the "Great Reshuffle" of HCs in CFB. It's good LSU was on the front end of that.

If Dabo wanted to leave Clemson, why didn’t he reach out to Florida, LSU, and USC when those jobs were open? All three are much better jobs than Oklahoma and I’m sure one of those schools would have jumped on hiring him if there was serious interest from Dabo’s camp. Or if Dabo somehow decided in the past week to jump ship, why not wait a few more weeks for NFL jobs to open up and take a NFL job? I just don’t understand the motive of why he wants to go to OU of all places.

OU is every bit the equal to those programs, and once you add SEC cache' to the OU brand, you're going to see a lot of "SEC type' recruits going there that wouldn't have considered them previously, because those recruits wanted to play SEC competition, not in the minor leagues.
