BK said the convo lasted 45 minutes and he was sold
there's no doubt that USC and LSU were talking to their candidates well before they were hired

Chicken, you still think it was BK the entire time?

I think you’re right.
Kelly and family didn’t make this life changing decision over night.

Exactly.
There is absolutely ZERO chance that a contract of this magnitude was discussed - with someone at a major program in contention for the CFP, mind you - in 45 minutes.
This had to have been an ongoing thing.
Now....perhaps there was a 45-minute Zoom call, but I can assure you there had to have been lengthy discussions with his agent prior to and the only way that happens is if Kelly ok'd them in the first place.
An agent won't spend hours upon hours negotiating with someone if he doesn't have the go-ahead.
Agents are, as a rule, usually attorneys. They operate under the same billing principles.

Bk has plausible deniability since he referred all inquiries to his agent

Riley and USC have been in communication for over a month

and it was probably mainly through their agents...that way a coach can say I did not have any contact with LSU etc

I think it is the basic plausible deniability scenario with all these guys. The initial conversations are going on through proxy. In this case, if what was reported is true, they have the same agent so probably a 1 person go between. Just my thinking.
So the "I only spoke LSU this weekend" is technically true. But he spoke to his agent who was speaking the LSU for weeks.

I don’t BK was last minute and I don’t think Riley was ever a serious candidate, but I can guarantee you he went all in on Jimbo 3 times and got denied every time before he moved on. Jimbo was #1, $12M/yr guy.
Cant have Kelly as #1 and give him $9.5M when the #1 guy was gonna get offered $12M!

The schools talk to the agents first. The coaches aren’t lying when the say “ I didn’t talk to school X. until Sunday” or whatever. It’s plausible deniability. His agent talked to the school and relayed messages. But he didn’t until the end.
