Yeah while studying for the bar exam he turned to his wife/girlfriend and said he could either be a rich but miserable lawyer or a poor but happy football coach and his wife told him to do what makes him happy.

I’ll bet he’s one of the only lawyers walking the planet who is actually proficient in bird law.

Pepperdine is like a resort university. The man chose Lubbock, Pullman, and Starkville after he hung out on the Malibu beach studying law

Fun fact: Students enrolled at Harding University, a small Div II Church of Christ college in Arkansas, can transfer directly to Pepperdine if they so wish because Pepperdine is also a Church of Christ-affiliated private university.

And yes, I thought everyone knew Leach was a lawyer from Pepperdine. He's also Mormon and he coached in NFL Europe. He is also personal friends with Donald Trump going back to the mid 00s and he lectures on ancient battle tactics.

He's basically the most interesting man in college football.

Its so ridiculous.

The old joke is why doesn't everybody try to get in there?

Well cost...if you factor in everything, tuition, campus housing, Etc. Its $80,000 A year.

USC had an opportunity to move their campus from inner city L.A. to where Pepperdine is now but declined. But that was a long time ago, around the 1930s.
