Presidents say dumb stuff all the time

Obama thinks there is 57 states. Bush can't be fooled again. Trump suggests injecting disinfectant.
If I recorded you all the time I would have a ton of stupid shite you would say. This hysteria over his comments are dumb. For the most part his actions have been great. Until he forces mass disinfectant injections I will continue to just believe he said out loud what many have just thought in their head. Aka I wish we could just use lysol in our body to clean 99.99% of our germs with the thing that kills them. His words come across as a day dream wish of advancing medicine to allow this to happen without harming a human, but also while knowing it would kill them. Ya he knows you can't just do that, but him speaking those thoughts we know won't work, but wish they could were dumb. Doesn't mean the things he actually takes initiative on are dumb. For the most part they have been very good for America. He is still a damn good leader, and president.

We get that. But there is no reason to get into the whole mental gymnastics of trying to make it sound like he said something brilliant.

While true, that's why you have a message and stay on it. Trump speaks off the cuff, shite like that is bound to happen.
He has my vote 100% come November, but I think he needs to stay on message. Especially headed into November.

Sure, however the mental gymnastics being used by some followers to justify the comment is what is most embarrassing. It is cult like.

I don't even care that he said it. I've totally thought in my head I wish there was a way to make lysol for the body. I just never said it outloud. He did. It was dumb. I went back read the comments before, and after. To me it is as dumb as his "acid wash" comments during the election. It makes him sound misinformed, and doesn't understand something. Though if he extrapolated either comment I'm sure we would all see he chose poor words that do not fit properly into the context. It happens when you are just talking. He isn't one who chooses his words carefully. I understand that. Its a nothing burger and everyone should just move on.

I agree, however there are more threads started here to defend what he said vs the statement itself. The posters who go out of their way to White Knight for the comment make it worse.
