Biology is a little surprising, only because it’s a STEM course that would seemingly be taken for a specific reason.

Then again, maybe it was and these are the ones that didn’t get into medical school.

Unless you go on to grad school or professional school (med, dental, vet), and BS in biology is pretty useless.

Biology is not much more than a stepping stone degree. Pretty much shite if you use it to be a biologist

medical/clinical assisting are technical certificate programs so I'd exclude that from this list but otherwise this isn't surprising.

Of all those listed, Biology is the only one with significant math or science requirements.

Is it? Would you want to work with someone who believes in evolution so much that they majored in biology and DIDN'T intend to use that as a stepping stone for grad school?

I sure wouldn't. What an insufferable loser that would be.

Does "University College" still exist at LSU, and if so, do they still offer a Bachelor of General Studies degree?

People stupid enough to major in those are never actually smart enough to graduate.

Got my BS in GS when Bill Arnsparger was the head football coach. Took me 5 1/2 years, too. Perhaps I spent too much time studying in The Library and swimming in The Bayou.

My guess is that those biologists aren’t specialists in fields with a lot of demand, like immunology, neuroscience, or epidemiology.
