I’ve always pondered like, with these sporting events (World Cup, Olympics, tennis, etc) when Russian players/teams either weren’t invited, or when they were, they don’t show Russian flag, like why didn’t that happen to America/Americans with our invasion of Iraq?

Plenty of them. Napoleanic, WW1, WW2. What'd we get by ignoring them. A burned down white house and half a million dead? Sometimes it's better to nip shite in the bud before we end up having to put American lives in danger.
