Dick Durbin is saying McCarthy demanded the debt ceiling be extended through Biden's term.

Just reported on War Room and backed up with a vid clip. If Durbin isn't lying about McCarthy not wanting to revisit the debt ceiling until after the 2024 GE I'm not sure how McCarthy is not removed from the speakership.

Republicans hate you/us. They don't care. They are only in DC to make money from their puppet masters. They are NOT in DC to serve. They are crooks.

You should know how, by now.*

Why would you want Republicans to have to go through this bullshite again, and in an election year?

Its really baffling how people can be so fooled… repeatedly
Like not once have they ever came through for you and I.

Its got nothing to do with Republicans per se, it's the fact that McCarthy gave the Dims the ability to continue funding Fundamental Transformation without any consideration of the debt ceiling being a potential stumbling block. This legislation is going to lock in base government spending at post COVID19 levels which I believe War Room reported was an increase of about $2 trillion/year.....insane BS! The estimated increase in US debt by 2025 will be around $4 trillion.

Because the battle would happen during an election year. Congress critters despise making hard decisions; it scares them to death.

Money still has to be appropriated

There’s only ONE party in Washington DC. Everything else you’re seeing is just theater

So you wanted to do exact same exercise again, with the exact same political makeup, again next year---right before an election?
Republicans do not currently have the power to cut spending to the levels that everyone wants. Trying but failing to do so, again, is a political loser for the GOP. And they would fail again, with the added bonus of Democrats being able to campaign on evil Republicans gutting social programs.
The Democrats have the power and leverage on this issue unless and until the GOP wins more Congressional seats and/or the WH. A five seat majority in one chamber of Congress is not sufficient to accomplish what you guys were expecting from that bill.

This ^^^ is true, but do you have any faith the R's will use a hard nose appropriation strategy to rein in the funding for all the Dim spending?

I'm with udtiger and Indefatigable.
People on here acting like we were going to get the most amazing debt deal in the history of Western Civilization by barely controlling one chamber of Congress...

Uhh...this^^^^ is why we're here, our elected Republican politicians never hold the line.
The damn Faux conservatives/Republicans continue to puff up and play the same game they've been playing for decades. ....telling the American people to vote for them and they will get fiscal accountability and turn the tide on the impending economic implosion of the US. Some fricking republicans have to stand on their principles (if they have any) and force the Dims to eat the fiscal responsibility shite sandwich for once.

To identify the GOPe rinos before the primaries.

Tell us your strategy then. How do you cut spending with what little power the GOP has currently and win the White House, Senate, and hold the House?

This. Economy can't afford a shut down. Medicine is in a tailspin with re-imbursements frozen or decreased over the past 2 decades. Weeks or months of no payments will close many hospitals and clinics. shite is about to get real bad in healthcare even without a shutdown.

It's the same old shite can't you see that? The R's are truly controlled opposition, it has to be by design, it's intentional.
Street level conservatives are sold a line of shite from their Republican politicians and the march towards socialism and cultural Marxism continues. There is no easy path back to the political center, it's going to take nearly every Republican in DC marching lockstep to reverse the horrendous course the Dims/Groomers have charted for the US, unfortunately there are dozens of DC Republicans who are just as hell bent on destroying the constitutional republic as the Dims/Groomers are.
I can guarantee if the Dims held a slim margin in the House and they were in the same position as the Republicans and they were wanting to get Dim friendly legislation passed in the House they wouldn't have to depend on any Republicans to break party lines, congressional Dims are nearly one Voice and one vote.....that's why they're kicking Republican arse.
