“We failed to get an ‘A’,” Mike McCord, the Pentagon’s comptroller and chief financial officer, told reporters last week, announcing the results of the Pentagon’s fifth-ever financial audit.

" I would not say that we flunked,” he added, despite his office acknowledging that the Pentagon only managed to account for 39 percent of its $3.5 trillion in assets.

Good to see Trump was right on the job. His annual pushing for increases in military spending must have been just a minor move in an overall masterful 4D chess strategy.

This guy is getting down voted. But when I first read the article I though the initial replies were giving Trump a pass. Maybe it's something Big Scrub posted, but this is as much on Trump as Biden

A corporal gets busted down for losing his worthless bayonet. But generals fail to account for billions to trillions and nobody cares.

God gave us precious seconds upon this Earth, and we waste them pondering our rogue Government and it's grift/graft..

If you do so as a hobby, great. However, if you do so in aspiring for proper resolution, or actual change..fool's errand.

As far as I can tell, Biden is only 2 of 5 years.

Unaccounted for seems to imply they don't know where it went. Fix your post. They know.

Do some of y’all get tired of being wrong?

You realize they have never passed an audit right? Ever.

quote:

When the Pentagon launched its first-ever independent financial audit back in 2017,

Their first independent audit ever came under Trump. Yes they failed it and have failed all of them since.

So our military never even does an audit until Trump, but since they continue to fail with all the same people minus Trump, it’s Trump.

Seriously, you people need help.

And as it stands dems and republicans introduced a bill back in 2021 to penalize the pentagon for audits not passed. They will get a reduction of budget.

So this really has nothing to do with Trump or Biden at this moment. It’s up to Congress.

A 165 billion dollar program that ballooned 1.7 trillion for a new generation fighter jet is just bat shite crazy. That's an incredible. That's like 40 something percent of an entire fiscal year budget.

Every time the military gets property, someone signs for it, at all levels from the delivery agent down to the user. Just go to the flag officers and give them a statement of charges for all the items that went to their commands - even easier, just start at the Chiefs of Staff. Things will roll downhill rather quickly.
