Going to have to talk to some people tomorrow morning and see what's up. But my initial thought is that Bama was slow playing him a little before he told our coaches he was wanting on board, and it forced them to make a move. Their number crunch is going to be interesting going forward.

So much for LSU being his "dream" school. Why I don't put much stock when a kid says this anymore.

And we really need him to commit as early as possible so we can try to get another great DE to play with him along with Evans. We need to get 3 really good DLman in this class IMO. This recruiting thing isn't over but it sure would be nice to get another one on board.

He stated at the opening that he's not committing until February.

That makes me nervous. Our DL targets are dwindling, and our big fish is waiting until the last minute.

As it should. O and staff have been on a lot of quality DLmen this year...unusually strong year in MS in particular. So I give him an “A” for talent evaluation. He identified the right guys early enough.

Unfortunately, Tigers seem to have missed on all but Evans...which I personally don’t see as elite.

DL board is getting really small, and if O can’t reel in Sopsher, it will be a really bad look. He’s gotta recruit the DLine well.

How can you say this crunches their numbers now. Lol!,, You must not be who I think you are , because if you were you would know Bama will just process guys when needed.

These players know they process guys at last minute if a big fish falls in thier lap. Bama is like that total bitch gf that you love. Yet the nice girl will do anything to date you but you still don't want anything to do with her.

Do you blame him? His LSU comment got the attention of the Tide(which was probably his real dream school)
Time to move on and find somebody that wants to be a TIGER!

Yeh, Meatball and O are whiffing pretty hard right now on those MS guys, with Meatball being a MS guy and O being a “DL guy”. Frustrating start to the DL class this year.

The importance of Dline depth and talent in this league goes without saying,it is what brought LSU back to prominence

No recruit is ever truly committed until they sign their letter of intent. Every school faces the fact that all recruits' verbal pledges are promises just waiting to be broken. That's why a HC should never go all in recruiting just one person for any position. (IE- Patrick Surtain Jr.) Get as many to sign as possible and let them compete to earn the position. In 2003, a Neville QB was being recruited by Saban. He wouldn't promise to not play MLB if drafted, so Saban kept recruiting other QB's. Saban wasn't going to allow a prospective player to alter his signing other QB's. The QB wasn't drafted and later went to Ole Miss because Saban had signed two other QB's(Jamarcus Russell and Matt Flynn).

Well right now Bama has 3 of the top 10 SDE and 2 of the top 15 DTs so I would hope that improves our chances with any of the remaining targets we might be competing for with Bama.

Saban invented recruiting soon after Saban invented college football. Saban signed the first player ever that Saban recruited since Saban was a coach.
