LSU & Texas battle as of now. Good guys in the lead.

Nebraska is hitting him hard, too. Don’t forget they got his teammate Ajay Allen when LSU wasn’t interested

O took about 10 guys far less talented than him. Don’t worry about Lance. We know how to guide our kids at Neville with the exception of 1.

No I think you misunderstood…I’m waiting on the 10 or so that Allen was more talented than that we took.

Ajay Allen was a dog. I was surprised that we passed on him. Allen was better than ones we have signed in recent past. He is for sure just as good as several prospects.

The problem I see with Allen is he isn’t a true running back, so then you have to put him in space. I guess the best option for that is the slot, because he was way too small to play on the outside. And I don’t want to take anything away from the kid, but it’s ok that we passed on him. Every kid that goes d-1 out of Louisiana doesn’t have to go to LSU. That should have no barring on the next big prospect from the school. I hate that these hometown heroes all have to be put on a pedestal that we have to take them and if not, then the staff screwed up. That is not necessarily the case. I thought Turpin from Neville was a great player, I’m not upset we didn’t end up getting him. I liked Diarse a lot and we DID take him, but he ended up successful somewhere else. It’s ok for all involved when that happens. None of that should matter with Heard, it’s a different staff and the program is headed in a different direction. Frankly, if he can’t see that and accept it, throw may not be the place for him anyways in my opinion. With that being said, I like where we are with him, and I think Campbell having early success will help us much more than not having Allen will hurt us. Just my opinion

Allen was 503rd ranked prospect nationally
West- can’t let him get away, he had big time offers from schools, can’t let him leave LA
Allen- same thing, look at the offers he had, can’t let him walk. Plus we had a huge need at db
Ibetia- I could possibly see it with him maybe not being taken over Allen. But, he was ranked ahead of Allen in defense of the staff.
Davis- Robinson- again, need at corner was huge
Taylor- nationally ranked as a prospect higher than Allen, plus different position obviously. Hard to knock them for taking a big tight end, especially after losing Johnson
Dibert- kicker, don’t think Allen could kick, and obviously we need a kicker
Bordelon- he was never not going to be given a scholarship. Sorry, like him or not, he was going to have a spot if he wanted it
Hill- some of the offers speak for themselves. Again, wasn’t going to let him leave LA if possible.
Welch- need at corner, he was 127th ranked
nationally overall. That speaks for itself.
Maybe the need wasn’t there for Allen and that’s ok. Just looking at it on paper, it’s obvious this staff wasn’t that concerned with finishing out with another running back. Like I said above, it’s ok for us to not sign every player from a certain school that normally produces big time players. Don’t mean Allen was a tremendous player, but doesn’t mean we missed out either.

Fukk Nebraska. That is a terrible football program. LSU has his ex OL teammate and Louisiana is home.

Lance has a lot more in common with Allen than he does with Will.

And besides the 2 fr studs coming, our oline is very old across the board. We could lose Frazier, shorts, wire, turner.. who's knows on what bradford/ kardell do if dont get pt this year.
He very well could be our starting rg or rt in 2023 if he's that good.

Care to elaborate? Color of skin is obvious, what else? Him and Campbell do both play offensive line, no?
Also do you care to expand on any reasoning that there were 9 guys that shouldn’t have been taken in front of Allen this year or do you want to take the easy way out and bash the staff?
I’m all for good arguments, just give something to back it up. I gave you why I thought it went the way it did with each of those players you listed. Nothing from you with any basis. All I see is your name is Monroe and you are claiming the world is ending because we didn’t want a kid form Neville in Monroe.

Not taking AJ Allen will have zero influence on Heard. Different era of LSU now. This staff puts a huge emphasis on his position and we have coaches that are well known and also proven to be able to develop kids just like him.
We also have room on the DL just in case lol. Coach Kelly has experience with athletic big boys from up north switching to the DL and excelling there.
I think his position is definitely OT but just saying. If we start recruiting top notch guys who are more developed and just as athletic then maybe that could be a move for some of those rare athletic type bodies. LSU is about to turn it up on the DL and OL. QB position was already turning around but he’ll elevate that position as well.
I’m ready to see how much more these guys have developed under him already. I’ll bet it’s quite a bit and we’ll see a moderate difference in our play. More like Miles without all the little mistakes, flags, and offensive struggles. More organized but play just as tough.
