Suffering through the first 5 episodes of Succession because I heard the finale was great.

Tell me that it's worth it, because the first 5 episodes of season 3 have been almost unwatchable.

If you think these episodes are “unwatchable” you should quit.

Not sure what you were expecting, but it's a good show...I will say that season 1 is the weakest of the 3.

As stated above it's not for everyone but so far 3 of the best season finales I've ever seen and they were set up by the "boring" stuff as you claim.

It has Mad Men pacing for me, which I loved. A slow burn to a big build up.
As said, it’s ok if that’s not your niche but I recommend at least watch a full season before quitting.

Which season are you talking about?
I thought Season 1 was slow, but I stuck with it. Glad I did so. Seasons 2 and 3 are fantastic.
Give Jeremy Strong (Kendell Roy) all the awards. He plays the perfect sad sack who can't help his tendency to be self-destructive.

Season 2 is the only one that is front back to awesome every episode. Season 1 and 3 are slow burns with really big pay offs. Every character in the show is a terrible person, some by birth and some by choice and empathy levels for their bullshite ebbs and flows. But once you recognize that there is no protagonist to sympathize with and that it’s all one big train wreck of bad intentions, the whole series is a lot of fun.

By the time the season was over I was ready for it to be over. I'm not excited for it to start again but I'm invested now. I hate everybody but Kendal and the actor who plays him is just painful to watch and I hope someone kills him

Seasons 1 and 2 are great because it seems like the characters are growing
Season 3 is dumb because the characters revert back to their season 1 versions of themselves and it feels retarded

One of the best, most realistic moments, in season 3.
When Kendall is trying to get Tom to flip.
Tom tells Kendall "With all due respect Kendall, in the end I think that you are going to get F'd.
I've seen you get F'd numerous times, and I've never seen Logan get F'd".
