The onstage chaos seemingly ignited six songs into the band’s set by frontman Anton Newcombe, 56, who then abruptly kicked out guitarist Ryan Van Kriedt from the band, demanding his microphone be “cut off” and for him to “get the f–k” off stage.

“Cut off this guy’s mic, put down my guitar, party’s over, captain,” Newcombe shouted at his then-guitarist in a fan-filmed social media video.

“There’s no more music until you get the f–k… We actually don’t need you. Go. Put my guitar down on the stage and think about what’s happening. Unplug.”

Van Kriedt told him he “better think about this one, man,” adamantly adding, “because this is forever,” making sure Newcombe understood the gravity of his demand.

Fed up with the onstage antics, Van Kriedt stormed off stage and flipped the irate lead singer as he exited.

In a shocking twist, concertgoers watched as Newsome took his guitar and swung it at Van Kriedt’s head, appearing to strike him in the face.

The guitarist then chases Newcombe across the stage as he flees before tackling him to the ground.

Just listened to one of their songs. Massacre is an understatement.

Anton sounds like a LWNJ queer.

Jonestown along with the Dandy Warhols were the reincarnations of psychedelic rock in the 90's. There were a lot of musicians in the PNW including SF during that era that were born 25 years too late but Grunge is the niche that became commercially viable. So yeah Newcombe is a late-coming hippie.

Oddly enough Jonestown has had a long history of fights on stage. There was a documentary about them years ago that had footage of a very similar fight within the band on stage.

Dig! In Newcombe’s defense though, the tambourine man had a very punchable face.

I had no idea he was still touring. Pretty pathetic seeing his old arse still hasn’t matured even a little.

On one hand, you paid to see a concert.

On the other, you witnessed a major event.

It's kind of like the Bite Fight.

I had tickets to their show in Houston on October 31st for missed it due to some unforeseen reasons.

They’re music is alright (like a poor man’s The Cure) but that lead singer is totally off his rocker.

Not huge. More of a indie rock thing. Biggest song has over 68M listens on Spotify

The fantastic documentary 'Dig!' which showed how insane Anton Newcombe was as well as how annoying Courtney Taylor of The Dandy Warhols was.

The first flaw was that they had 4 guitar players. Then it's all downhill from there.
