Looking to a 20 something year old for life advice is stupid. But much less stupid than going to a priest for marriage advice.

What you’re missing is enough dumb people in your life willing to fork over money to listen to your shitty advice. That’s about it.

It’s a short-term grift not a career

As much as I hate them...I mean, see a fricking therapist if you need help...I can't knock someone who can turn their bullshitting ability into a FT job as I have little sympathy for the idiots who listen to these frauds.

Narcissistic people who think their opinions mean anything.

IMO if you have kids, you are a life coach.

I’ll bite.
I had a life coach for 1.5 yrs (certainly wasn’t a 20 yr old).
We got together weekly (via zoom) and discussed health, biz, family.
I own 3 businesses, and have no boss, so it’s nice to have some sort of accountability partner. We discussed goals, ventures, workouts and weight, processes, etc.
I found it beneficial.

I'm not a life coach, but I've always been an active mentor at most of my jobs the last 5 years. You're almost a sounding board that provides support for smart ideas, and caution for bad ideas. So much of what I do is just listening and asking questions so they can get to whatever decision they actually want to do. It also helps younger staff become accountable.
Honestly, there is so much less mentoring than previous generations that this is the attempt to fill the gap. It's absolutely pathetic how little most upper/middle management interact with younger staff and new seniors/first reviewers.

Shitting your money away for no reason.

So many young adults were raised by grown children... A life coach is basically a parent teaching you to be a grown-up. Its not a bad thing.

The problem with life coaches is they are to real therapists what Asian Massage are to Massage therapists.
