story

"All that comes at a cost. Rivian vehicles sell for over $80,000 on average. Yet they’re so expensive to build that in the second quarter the company lost $33,000 on every one it sold. That’s roughly the starting price of a base model Ford F-150."

will they survive?

Friend,

Amazon lost a ton of money before making a profit. Will they survive? We shall see. So far, we are down in the five figures on their stock.

They never should have nuked their relationship with Ford. That was always going to be the way they could learn how to mass produce cars without burning a shite ton of capital.

Dated a girl named Rivian. Can confirm, was like swinging a hot dog in a closet.

that was a weird thing,

seemed like a good match, could have made a joint rivian/f100 light truck, and ford had the experience and the factories

Amazon received cash infusions for their company since they were fleshing out their AWS offerings which is where they make their money, not Prime.

Friend,

Playing the market sounds dangerously close to gambling. Does Mother approve of such shenanigans?

I honestly thought Rivian was going to become their EV division and we would only see all their EVs under that product line. Ford was a big early investor and then one day it just blew up.

I don't want to see Rivian die. Those are incredibly well designed vehicles and outside a few NewCo growing pains, their build quality is up there with the best.
