Construction underway at site of former Reggie’s bar

A small construction crew was spotted at Reggie's bar on Thursday, the now-shuttered venue that lost its liquor license after the death of LSU student Madison Brooks.
Permits filed with the city-parish suggest the construction is related to renovations to the bar's patio. Video captured by WBRZ on Thursday showed workers inside the building with an excavator, exposed by a wall that had been knocked down.
The renovations will also make the building compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
It's the first sign of change at the property since it was announced the venue would be absorbed by the neighboring Fred's bar.

This should have been done years ago. If only they could keep on demo-ing all the way down Alvin Dark.

Why so many for closing it? Sincere question cause I’ve never been.

While they're there, they should probably do the rest of Tigerland all the way to at least Sharlo

The worst kept secret was it was the underage bar. And not just talking under 21, try under 18. People let it go for a long time but the Madison Brooks thing was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I started college in 08 and even back then I wondered how they were allowed to still operate since everyone knew what they were about. Only stepped foot in there one time and my buddy's sister who was only 16 and still in HS was there with her HS friends, all with drinks in their hand. I'm honestly surprised it went on as long as it did.

Hood AF. You must have lived there when it was still relatively new. Last I heard they had trouble collecting rent from the tenants and the Feds were planning to seize it, but I never heard of what became of that.

It’s all fun and games until a coed gets drunk there, then raped and killed in a tragic accident.
