OT Ballers - Life insurance amount and rate?

Curious what you guys are paying and what coverage amounts you are carrying.
I currently have a $500k policy and am paying $116 a month.
Non smoker in excellent health (like everyone on the OT) but not 6'2" or 178 lbs.
I am wondering because I let my investment manager set up the policy and now, years later, I am wondering if I am getting ripped off and should shop around.

term or whole life policy?

Is this term insurance or do you get some of your premiums back after 20-30 years?

You’re getting ripped. I’m at a million for less than that

Always shop around, the one thing my dad taught me (that I need to do better about) because it will save you in the long run.

That’s terrible advice for life insurance

depends on age and length of term..

Depends on your age and total health. The older you are the more expensive it gets. Also, if it's term, then how long is the term?

I have a total of 3 mil in force. 1.25 is a 30 year term, the rest is limited pay whole life or my UL. In total I pay about 2100/month.
Most of that is overfunding my UL account value.

My work provides 2x salary in life insurance for both me and my spouse. I have the option to increase it to up to 5x my salary for about $20 a month, which I have elected to do.

Term. I am thinking I am overpaying based on the responses thus far.
This is probably a Money Board topic but I prefer to open the floor for $3.50 responses by posting here.

I have 2.5 million, 20 year term (puts me at 55. Thinking of upping to 30 year, $125 a month

Life insurance isn’t like other insurance. You can’t compare what you’re paying to someone else. It’s all based on amount, term, ratings at the time of issuance, mortality rates, and your health class. It’s not apples to apples
