What was the peak year of the 80’s?

What year, in your opinion, was the peak year of the 1980’s? The year that felt the “80est” if you will. If you think back to that time, what particular year embodied that decade the most?
Another part of the question. In what year did the 80’s start to have its own uniqueness after the 70’s ended? I feel like a lot of people would say 1980 and 81 felt like extensions of the 70’s.

Only downside to experiencing all of my high school and college years in the 80’s is I am old.

I’ve gotta say it’s 1984. Stellar movies and music being released, patriotism soaring under Reagan, and Hulkamania running buck wild. It’s 1984.

Didn’t Nintendo come out in 86?

I'm going '85 too. The Bears were just there to do the "Superbowl Shuffle."
