Include the turnovers

In 2011 Florida lost to FSU 21-7 despite holding FSU to 95 yards.
In 2014 they got crushed by Missouri 42-13 despite holding Missouri to 119 yards.
Both these losses, especially to Missouri, featured bad special teams and offensive turnovers

Craziest sports stats that make no sense
In 1990 Eddie Murray batted .330 in 155 games for the LA Dodgers, the highest average in the majors that year.
Eddie Murray never won a batting title in his career.

David Justice had a higher batting average than Derek Jeter in both 1995 and 1996, but Jeter had a higher batting average for the two years combined.

That game was a clinic on bad special teams
Florida just handed them each touchdown on a silver platter

During the SC @ UF game in 2011 UF had something like 21 points off of 23 yards of offense at the half because of some fumbled KOs and other TOs.

So was the OP. I looked it up and the KC touchdowns were a ST fumble recovery in the end zone, a TD return, and a blocked FG return.

I’ve seen that stat and have never figured out how it’s possible.

In 1927, a ball that hopped over the fence was a home run. None of Babe Ruth's homers that year were one hoppers.
If you took away all of Hank Aaron's home runs he would still have 3000 hits.
The Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl.

quote:Bad special teams. Also bad red zone defense. The margin of error in NFL games is much closer. A turnover, a 40 yard punt return, a missed kick, etc. can turn a close win into a close loss.

Playing for the Steelers in a game against the Giants in 1950, Bob Gage returned 22 punts. The Steelers turned the ball over 9 times so the Giants offense was epically bad at converting.
The Giants won 18-7 and scored all their points on defense, 2 safeties and 2 fumble recoveries for TDs including one by Tom Landry.

I’m gonna need the number in this as it doesn’t make sense.
