Just show me the bracket.
I don’t need 2 guys in their poorly lit Mom’s Basement with 2 laptops announcing the pairings.
Also, I don’t want to download an app that I have to register for.

Why does Neville keep playing 4A and moved up to 5A for playoffs.

They changed the playoff format last year in the middle of the season. Belle Chasse and Westgate were also forced up.

Same thing with South Lafourche and South Terrebonne. They play in a 4-A District, but for playoffs they are a Division I.
They should make districts based on the Divisions instead of global districts based on the Classification.

Absolutely, but they have to change the handbook for that to happen. Hopefully someone authors a proposal to do that at the convention in January.

For all intents and purposes, 5A/4A has no meaning for football, basketball, and baseball anymore. They are Division I. Plus, they voted for it.
And they are actually in 5A next year.

They should get rid of the divisions all together

TLDR: 5 classes in regular season, 4 divisions in playoffs.
Every 2 years they take the attendance numbers for schools that play football. They take the number of schools, divide by 5 and set the attendance levels for each class so that there are approximately the same number of football schools in each Class. There is an adjustment for boys only or girls only schools to get their official attendance numbers.
For playoffs, they split the schools into select and non-select based on the mood of the principles at the time. They then divide the number in each category by 4 and get the number of schools in each division.
For example, if there are 320 schools that play football, there will be 64 schools in each class. If both select and non-select have 160 school, there will be 40 schools in each division. Select has 24 teams in a 32 team bracket, top 8 getting byes. Non-select has 28, top 4 getting byes.
For schools that don't play football, they fall into the class based on the ranges set, unless they would be in single A, and those schools make up class B and C.

considering Brent Vidrine is one of the folks that gave us "play in class" which led to the split.. Oh well...

Does the 1 seed play at home all the way through? Used to i thought they had to travel once. Someone said it was changed for this year.
