Let’s play 2, they said. It’ll be fun, they said.
Game 1:
Game 2:
Spencer Strider and Uncle Charlie vs. a couple of slack-jawed, knuckle-sucking chucklefricks.

5 game lead on the Mets after today sounds good to me.
And we can keep pace with the Pirates juggernaut.

My pocketbook would really enjoy it if Strider can accumulate > 8.5 K and pick up the win.

Mets are proving to be one of the hardest teams to strike out again (like last year), but over 8.5 seems automatic for Strider these days if he can go 6.

The Mets always seemed to work Strider's pitch count last year.

Annoying little bitches imo.

Hilliard should be in left, imo, now that Mike is back.

Let’s fricking Go Murphy?
Approved.

Ozzie needs to go righty. Much better numbers from that side. I know he’ll have to adjust to right handlers stuff breaking away, but he’s almost a liability lefty.

that -1.5 I placed right before first pitch looks pretty solid so far

Sean Murphy getting this Mets double buttfricking started early. You love to see it.

He holds himself back so much by continuing to hit left handed. His switch hitting splits are staggering. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like this is something that has ever been seriously considered.

MY MLB network froze up on me during Riley's at bat.
Didn't get it back until AFTER Murphy scored on his homer.
Awesome that we got a 3 run dinger in the 1st, with Stider going.... and we made that bum throw 31 pitches in the 1st.
Might be along day for the Muts....
And as I'm typing this - a leadoff triple.

Not better power numbers. And this is moot anyway, because he’ll never do it. Won’t consider it.
I’ve seen his splits before, but it’s been a while. Obviously, he hits for a better average right-handed, but does that provide more value than what he brings from a power standpoint left-handed? That’s not rhetorical, I really don’t know.
But I get the frustration. He uses that bigger bat when he’s hitting left-handed, and he just doesn’t have the same bat-to-ball skill that he does with the smaller bat he uses right-handed. It’s almost like Olson and his big arse bat. It’s like he’s not even swinging AT the ball, just swinging that big arse bat through the zone and hoping he runs into one. And they both do pretty regularly. The Ks are just something you have to live with with that approach.
