In other Big East intraconference news, Cooley moving from Providence to Georgetown. Friars fans are... not happy.

How old is pitino? 6 years seems like a lot.

What is the line on Richard being named Coach In Waiting before too long? Reason I ask is UNM is not going to be where he stays all the time.

70.
Definite cash grab for him, he’s not gonna do shite at St. John’s but could have retired at Iona, maybe even someday won a tournament game there.

I fully expect him to have St. John’s in the tourney annually. The guy can still
Coach. And apparently a billionaire alum is stepped by up their NIL.

What did Mike get as a deal to go away?
Mike should have never come back to Arkansas, he was never going to relive what the fans wanted him to do. It was lose lose all the way around.

Supposed to have $11 million buyout, SJ is trying not to pay it saying they fired him with cause. Mike is suing the school.

He just went 64-22 at Iona making the tourney 2 of the 3 seasons he was there and won 25 games the year they didn’t make it. The dude is still unquestionably one of the best coaches in college basketball.

Georgetown has only had one white coach in the last 51 years and he was also given the shortest tenure. Seems kind of racist to me.

One bid league and he went 0-2 in the tourney. Am I supposed to be dazzled?

He’s one of the greatest college basketball coaches of all time. He’s been successful at every stop. I think he’ll somehow find a way to be good at St John’s.

What did he do to get fired for cause?

Nothing SJU is just trying to get out of paying the whole buyout and hoping to settle for less than $11 million. They said some stuff in his termination letter about not pushing his players to make good grades.

His apr was above average though.

He can retire at St. John’s too, with even more $. Plus he doesn’t need to move, as the SJU campus is an easy drive away from his home on Winged Foot.
