Those quarterbacks at the end of miles tenure.

The ones that ,paired with our offensive philosophy under Cam Cameron, Greg studrawa, and Gary crowton ,made your eyes bleed.
Have we ever came to some sort of a consensus on who was the worst of the worst, and the best of the worst?
I think enough time has passed to be able to rank them without it coming across as a player bashing distasteful thread.
If I'm wrong for this, then we can just delete it.

Maybe we should rank the good ones too, so it doesn't come across that way

Going from Jennings to Harris to Etling is about as bad as it gets
Posted on 6/26/20 at 11:11 am to Tigerpride18
Lee, Hatch and Etling were all terribad

Etling was far and away better than the other two. He could actually hit an open receiver 10+ yards down the field and he was a tough SOB.
I think he’s probably a little underrated now to be honest.

Not a fair assessment at all.
One, the guy was not bad. Not saying he was great; but he was definitely avg. to solid (see reason #2).
Two, he managed to get drafted and is still in the league.
Three, if he would have been in last year's offense he would have looked better. Not saying he would have been Burrow better, but he definitely would have looked better than he did.

Russell was better than Mettenberger. You could also argue he was better than Davey because he had two good seasons to Rohan's one
And Brennan being ranked is kind of a joke. Particularly above guys like Mauck, Etling and Randal who, while maybe not all time greats, actually did something at LSU. Brennan has done virtually nothing to date at LSU outside of a few good drives vs. Syracuse and Troy in his freshman season. He should be above Hatch..if on the list at all

Hatch should have never been on the team. With that said, Jennigs just flat out sucked.

I think to date you’d have to go
Burrow
Russell
Davey
Mettenberger
Mauck
Flynn
Randall
Etling
Lee
Harris
Jefferson
Jennings
Hatch
Brennan just hasn’t played enough but I guess if you had to sandwich him somewhere it’s between Lee and Harris

I’m excited about Brennan but Mauck was really good.
He threw 28 TDS in 2003.

So you put the only other guy to be drafted #1 overall as 4th on the list?? If you're going off just their college performance/production, I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion.
And then you put the guy who won a natty behind the guy that is only the presumed starter at this point and hasn't started a game or played longer than really a quarter in a game at this point?
Defintely head scratchers on those 2.

He was a great person though. I felt so bad watching all the hate fly his way. He always took personal accountability for the mistakes made, and vowed to work harder. I hate he was never able to turn things around. I knew a lot of people who had classes with him and my roommate taught one of his classes and he was supposedly great. Took classes seriously and didn't have attitude problems that plague a lot of P5 athletes.

I can’t determine who was worse Hatch or Jennings. Jennings had that one relief appearance against Arkansas and I had hope. Then he started in the bowl game and couldn’t even complete a check down.

This thread is all over the place. OP states the "end of Miles tenure", then manages to go all the way back to Saban era QBs
I guess you want to rank QBs starting after the Perrilloux dismissal through 2016?
So, starting with Hatch and ending with Etling.
IMHO from best to worst = Mett, Etling, Lee, Jefferson, Jennings, Harris, Hatch, Rivers.
Not sure if I'm missing anyone. If so, then they were pretty forgettable then.

Jennings was by far the worst. Those were the days of 10-19 77 yards 0TD 1INT passing lines. I don’t really count Hatch because he was never intended to be a starting QB in the SEC. He was brought in to be a smart backup QB who was another set of eyes for the starter but was forced into action by injuries. Jennings was brought in to be the starting QB.
