It was most fun with Nick Saban and the first title

It was the most fun when LSU under Saban destroyed Georgia but all those geniuses on tv like Trevor Matich were positive Georgia was going to win.
Beating Tennessee in the SEC championship with a backup qb was pretty awesome also.

No it wasn't. We just keep hiring idiots

It waa waaaaay more fun when you could park pretty much anywhere on campus for free if you got there early enough. And I didnt pay 2400 for 3 tickets for 6 games where all but 2 are shite.
It was more fun when the likes of Notre Dame came to visit Tiger Stadium instead of Houston, Atlanta or Dallas.

The mid/late 90s to 2003 was the absolute best time to be a fan, it wont ever be that way again.

Now we have a bunch of spoiled, bitch, young fans who think a national title is only measure of success.

A lot of truth in what you say.
I always consider the night they sang happy birthday to the lottery at half time as the "shark jump".
The 2001 auburn game gets overlooked but that was pretty awesome. Set up the SEC- c and the Sugar Bowl

We are already back to mediocre and the spoiled folks are dropping tix. Problem is regular joes that got kicked out of their seats can't afford to come back at these prices.

I agree with this. I remember when dinardo had us at #6 in the nation. holy shite that was exciting.

Agree! Those Indy games were awesome. Beating Florida in TS in '97. Beating UT for the SEC championship when nobody thought we could, the players had that "eye of the Tiger" swagger. It was fun. Then in '03 to win it all...storybook! Hoping CEO brings that fire back. Saw glimpses of it last year but you're right. It was a special time to be an LSU fan.

I was a student from '92-'96. We sucked big time, but we had so much fun at the games. When we made the Independence Bowl in '95, we were on top of the world. Winning brings expectations which is understandable, but it also brings pressure which takes the fun out of it.

Making it to the Indy bowl was so exciting. Striving for 6-7 wins was fun.
Tiger Stadium was more exciting. People stated the entire game. Tickets were cheap. My dad had 4 seats in the lower bowl on 45 and he paid 300 a piece for entire year.

I wish LSU would go back to middling so the band wagoners would go away.
You're not wrong. There was certainly something to be said for gaining enjoyment out of all the other things that an LSU game has to offer other than JUST winning. As a kid in the 80's it was tremendously exciting waiting for my hard copy of Sports Illustrated to arrive so I could see if LSU was in the Top 20. Striving to be in the elite was great fun.
Having been there since the early 2000's has been a dream come true, but with it has brought not just a generation of spoiled fans who think it's our birthright to perpetually be in the Top5 but older idiot fans who seem to have forgotten that we really used to be able to STILL find joy out of this wonderful pastime each fall regardless of the final finish.
All that being said, I'd rather a good portion of these ingrates would just frick off rather than hoping to program went back to those old days. As someone that can find joy out of things still, I prefer winning a huge amount and happiness rather than winning some and happiness.
