Woodward’s 8-year 60 million contract with Scott Drew will heal us all.

We’re all stuck on this shite ride of being an LSU basketball fan, but one thing is for sure: the next hire is going to be a lucrative contract for a proven guy.
I hope McMahon somehow salvages this but he doesn’t fit any criteria of a Scott Woodward hire. He goes q after proven winners and I don’t doubt good coaches were interested but reluctant with the NCAA witch hunt
The contract pisses me off but that’s the new era of potato college sports. We were Chernobyl for basketball post Wade and the real punishment was taking years to make us suffer. It’s over and we will get a big time baw

I think you’re spot on. I thought the hire should have been Drew as well but there’s no way any name of significance was going to take a chance without knowing what the result of the investigation was going to be.
The only proven guy that we might have been able to pull would have been Chris Beard because he was facing just as much scrutiny as we were. But the optics were probably just too much for Woodward to seriously pursue him.

And pearsonal roast of the dude making fun of one of maybe five rant insiders mocking how nice the McMahon family is-nothing he said isn’t true. I am sure he’s trying his best and he’s rooting for him. IRS a cutthroat business.
He never said McMahon was a good coach. Just saying there are more dynamics to success and it’s humbling meeting people in pearson rather an internet warrior.
It’s fine to hold two thoughts at once which isn’t seemingly difficult these days. He can say he’s rooting for a good person who actually represents the school well and is giving his all and also noting this isn’t working. Crazy thoughts.

Exactly. Do you think Woodward didn’t want Beard? We were dead in the water and we got a coach who went 30-4 and took his entire team with him despite the garbage witch hunt.
I can’t stand Nikki fargas but on paper she was a great hire. Great athletic directors make decisions that don’t pan out but that’s not simply because the hire was awful on its face

With the way he throws money around he could’ve had Beard if he wanted him. We’ll never get another shot at a coach like that again but instead of taking advantage of a gift from the heavens he’s fine with completely sinking the program.

We couldn’t fire Wade post scandal and immediately hire a guy who hasn’t settled his allegations in litigation. The timing was garbage.
“Let’s replace our witch hunt coach with a coach freshly fired off sham domestic abuse allegations”. Ole Miss hired beard a year after we hired McMahon. Also wouldn’t that require us buying McMahon out in full and then going after a guy in the middle of litigation?

Fat boy can now hire Bill Self at $200 million for 10 years and set a new bar for college basketball coach salaries.

Can you imagine if woody were to pull mulkey and then Drew from Baylor.

Wasn’t Beard fired last season? He wasn’t available when McAnus was hired.

I don’t think Scott Drew is an option because Mulkey is at LSU. They were like oil and water on many occassions in the past. Now, I do believe Drew might leave Baylor at some point given the complete lack of intelligence of the AD and Pres at Baylor, but I would be shocked if he landed at LSU.

How about Bryce Drew?

Maybe Scott was just playing 4D chess. Hire a cookie cutter clean coach that won't cost an arm and a leg, appease the NCAA with some bad seasons, NCAA gets off our back, hire a real coach.

Scott Drew won’t leave Baylor. Won them a title and has clout there. Also he can recruit the Dallas area alone and probably have enough to win there.
He’s not taking a step down to rebuild our shite program

This theory could be entertained if we weren't overpaying him with a crazy buyout...

Replace Scott with Kelly and Baylor with ND.
