You have to take him away and make someone else beat you.
I guess I would go with Denver Harris

Yeah. Harris is probably the only current option. But he’s got to tackle.

I know people are down on Welch, and he was lost in zone. But he’s might be the best on to play man after Harris. He did make a couple nice plays early bs Ole Miss.

House doesn’t play man coverage so it’ll be a combination of dudes getting toasted

Harris with help from Andre Sam or another safety in bracket coverage, it’s not great but probably the best chance.

It's still crazy that one of the Ole Miss TDs we *were* in man but Welch thought we were in zone and left his guy wide TF open for a TD.

Hell, we were in man on their first TD when Penn got caught up underneath trailing his guy in motion and he got wide open.

It's just comically bad.

This is what happens when they likely don't practice man coverage that much. House is a Zone coverage guy through and through. Unless you have an unreal DL getting push every play and LBers that know their assignments, it will get shredded over and over.

I think one of the problems with this mentality is that they move Burden around a lot. Like Nabers, he does a lot of his damage out of the slot position.

This play pisses me off the more I've seen it. Penn showed absolutely no urgency as he did a light jog to follow him. He would have scored even if he didn't run into his own guys because he wouldn't have been able to catch up.

He plays multiple. I'd use a lot of cover 2 man under.

Where the hell did you get this? Every DC plays man coverage. It's just a question of how much. House plays more zone than we are used to.

Welch was good at times he has it physically but Sams need to be taken off the safety spot and put in the slot or nickle.
Weeks and penn I think are the best options, if spiegs gets 100% healthy then week by week let penn and spiegs battle it out. I would attempt to play burns at the Los and make him a pseudo LB.

If I had to make a Frankenstein defense I think it has to be
LCB HARRIS
RCB WELCH/Chester
Dime Sam
Fs yaites just tell him not to let anyone get behind him he can do that
Ss toviano or Allen gotta let these guys play
LB combo I would figure out a way to have weeks, perkins, burns, penn on the field at the same time
DL combo wingo, Jefferson,
De gotta get Womack some playing time, Jones, swinson, Wiggins, Shand….

Has to be some kind of combo involving these guys specifically I would think.

That's what we get for trying to install multiple fronts. Instead of being able to do one thing really good, we can't do anything good lol

Zy Alexander has been shite on here a lot but he was our best one on one corner in the Ole Miss game.

I know, we got raped for 700+ yards but he still had the best game of CBs

After watching the replay I agree with you that Alexander was the best pure pass defender we had against Ole Miss. We can only hope that game was a perfect storm of bad game planning and poor preparation plus perfect play calling and performance by Ole Miss. They definitely played with their hair on fire. Likely not a repeatable performance.
