I saw several discussions, but never saw a definite reason.

I don't think a reason was ever given publicly. I just remember we had to kick someone out to left tackle (Josh Williford?) the week of South Carolina and Clowney. Our O-line was great that week.

IDK why Hurst left like he did. It was very odd.

Vs USCe in '12, Vadal started at RT in place of Hurst, Trai Turner started at RG in place of Josh Williford, and Dworacyk started at LT in place of an injured Chris Faulk.

Dworacyk Had an incredible game. Jeremy Hill had a great game as well. Still remember that long run down the sideline, twas a thing of beauty.

Kinda random. He sued the NCAA in a
Class action lawsuit in 2019 over failing to prevent injuries, etc.

A guy I knew that played for LSU in the eighties got an invite to join that class action. I think every former NCAA football player did.

Almost 10 years later you’re still worried about this?

I’ve killed several brain cells since then but I seem to remember he had a neuro condition-chronic headaches/migraines. I could be thinking of a different player.

SENIOR SEASON (2012) Started first six games of the season before quitting team following Florida game in week 6 … Played a total of 356 offensive snaps with 44.5 knockdowns … Played every offensive snap in wins over Washington, Idaho and Auburn.

Hard to imagine it didn’t have something to do with the Florida game. Makes you wonder if he lost his job to Vadal

The meme above your post summarizes it up. It was a random thought going through my head as I was tossing and turning.

Since you asked . . .

In '12 we had to play four top-10 teams in a row (UF, USCe, A&M, and Bama). Two on the road; two at home. We went .500 over that span. All close games save maybe A&M.

Bama also had to play consecutive games vs top-10 opponents that year. They also went .500. But they only had to play two games. W vs us; L to A&M.

So while our more difficult schedule saddled us with 2 losses, their ever so user-friendly schedule allowed them into the SEC CG and an easy natty game vs ND.

So back to USCe, I just recall that we had a patchwork OL facing Clowney, et al in the midst of a tough stretch and they rose to the occasion.

And in hindsight, there have been few teams in CFB history with a better set of OGs that we lined up with then - La'el at LG and Trai at RG.
