BK really did say "We're gonna beat the heck out of Florida State".

Hopefully this isn’t a “sissy in blue shirt” moment

There are adults in the room now.

BK never would have made that statement at ND. It's like he's a totally different cat.

Ok, coach...

Gotta think the amount of talent makes you feel a little more powerful

Pretty surprised that he said that. Hope he can back it up.

We needed to win that game bc this quote would have been amazing. Instead it was sad.

When you do it long enough you know what good looks like and what it doesn't. I think part of the emotion he had after the Alabama win last season is he knew his team played above their heads that night.
This is year is different. He knows he has a group that is capable of beating anyone, and unlike last year, LSU isn't walking into the FSU game unsure of what they have. They are confident

He said it on his radio show last night.

Beyond sad! I was so freaking pissed after we loss to UCLA. A, I knew that was the end of Coach O(thank God), B, Hurricane Ida had just punched us in the mouth as well so it was a double kick to the nuts. I couldn't even sleep that night I was so pissed!

There's a lot of debate about whether LSU or FSU has improved "more" since last year's game. By default it would have to be us strictly due to the roster deficiencies and how much we've gained from the portal & recruits. Of course, FSU was starting in a more comfortable position, so let's call it a wash.
The decisive factor to me is that LSU has spent a year under the guidance of one of the top 3 coaches in the country. Norvell may go on to do great things, but he's not in Kelly's stratosphere right now. I think it's getting overlooked because people keep talking about the individual players & supposed mismatches. alabama had a decisive talent advantage over us last year, yet we still managed to beat them. So coaching alone is giving me a ton of confidence heading into this match-up. Kelly is ELITE, and has proven that everywhere he's been.

Well said!

I don’t really care for a coach saying that, I know I’ll be in the minority and get plenty downvotes, but bring them on. That seems like something Coach O might say.

I think it's because Orgeron did it tbh

It all comes down to our secondary. I am a little worried that the sharks are betting the spread down to 2.0 and maybe even a pick em by Sunday. Still think we win comfortably

He certainly knows more about football than I know about sentence structure.

Everything was "new" last season. Particularly in the FSU. New way of doing things as a program. New coordinators and, thus, a new approach on both sides of the ball. New strength and conditioning program. Several new players. Some of whom were true freshmen.
In year two EVERYONE knows the way things are done in the program. Nothing is really "new" (except for trues freshmen and transfers). It's simply how the program runs now. The OC knows what he has on offense now. There's no worry about a new QB in a new system behind an uncertain OL. Really outside of CB, the DC knows what he has with his group this year. Case in point, Harold Perkins didn't play a single defensive snap vs. FSU last year. It took until the second half of the EIGHTH game of the season last year (Ole Miss) for the staff to realize just how big of a game wrecker he could be. But for Smith getting hurt, Wingo would have been a rotational player. Going into year 2 the staff now knows they have an All American type players. Those two guys will be turned loose this seaosn.
Don't get me wrong, FSU has improved as well. They did a great job in the portal. But with last season being year 3 of Mike Norvell FSU's ceiling for the level of improvement was lower than LSU's in year 1 under Kelly. Norvell was on his way to getting fired at the beginning of last season.
If I'm wrong, I will (unhappily) admit it, but I really like where this LSU team is now. My only concern going into game one is Denbrock. I don't think his offensive approach was very good last season. One that didn't lead to a lot of explosive plays outside of Daniels simply breaking contain and scrambling for big runs. He said recently he felt like he was in "survival mode" last season in terms of play calling because of so many new parts. That's reasonable. But that is not the case anymore. So if this offense is not explosive it is on HIM and his approach. This is the best group of offensive players he's EVER had a chance to lead. Thus, there is no excuse for holding things back. It won't be 2019, but this group has the pieces in place to be the second best offense next to that group...if the OC can lead them there.
