There are some benefits to pitching Skenes today.
1) It gives you the possibility of bringing him back for a few innings on Monday if you’re in a winner take all game on Monday.
2) If you wrap up the win on Sunday and don’t need to play Monday, you can start him game 1 of the Super Regional on a full week of rest.
With that said, I still think I would start Hurd today and save Skenes for tomorrow.

Skenes talked about the 6 day week throwing him off rhythm in the regional previews. They are probably looking more into how pitching him tomorrow effects him next week more than anything.

Skenes pitches 100+ per game. He isn't pitching again on only 2 days rest.

5 days rest is plenty. He has done that twice this season and pitched great.
