I believe that's where they will be #4

Would be fun to see Coach Kelly back at the Box. He was here only one season but I liked him as a PC.

What a collapse from USCe
7 SEC teams hosting including Bama and Auburn but no cocks
Eta D1 dropped USCe from their top 25 too. Alabama and Auburn both jump in.

Was just thinking that. Grand Canyon is one of the more solid 3 seeds in a region you will see

First one without Southern Miss in our regional.

They haven't won a series in over a month. No one to blame but themselves. Would hate to get a team like that as a two-seed, though. If they find their stride, they can beat anyone.
Washington is probably viewed as a weaker two seed as the Pac-12 is meh this year, but Texas Tech would be a tough arse 3. They have had an up-and-down year, but there is plenty of talent on that team, They can always swing it, and they have a good coach
Does anyone have info on Nicholl's Friday night guy? I think the key to the regional is LSU being able to hold Floyd until game 3, but if the 4 seed comes to town with a legit arm, that may not be an option.

Wouldn’t be shocked at all to see Grand Canyon come out of that regional
Their SS Jacob Wilson is a projected top-10 pick in the draft

Nicholls’ Mayers is 92/53 K/BBs in 62.2 IP with 2.15 ERA. Opp BA is .169
McNeese’s Rogers is 83/18 K/BBS in 94.2 IP with 2.00 ERA. Opp BA is .210

4 and up means you're home in Game 1 at Omaha too. That would be nice.

McNeese plays A&M Corpus Christi in a single elimination game tomorrow night so we may be able to cross that off our list real soon.

Throwing Coleman against either sounds very dangerous as you're most likely handing it over to the bullpen after 3 or 4. Neither team's lineup looked scary though.
Give us the SWAC champ.

That’s true, there’s a possibility we could draw the SWAC too which would be preferred but D1 has Auburn and Bama hosting a regional too. Lots of regionals the SWAC champ could be sent to

Correct, but only if chalk holds.
If a 2-seed in the regional makes it to Omaha opposite a national seed, the national seed (1-16) is home team in Game 1.

Looks right to me. Only surprise I see is Virginia at 8. I guess their perfect NC record and zero losses outside of the Top 100 gives them the nod.

If you try to do a projection, the top 8 should host regional... and the #2 seed at their regional should be ranked somewhere between 25 and 32.
Teams 9-16 should host regionals, with their 2 seeds being ranked 17-24.
That's part of the benefit of being a National (top 8) seed, they shouldn't get a 2 seed good enough to host, but instead a 3 seed that should challenge the 2.
Teams like USM deserve to go to regionals they can win.

quote:The SWAC champ is probably going to be considered one of the weakest 4 seeds in the tournament. You put them up against a National seed, not someone who might barely be hosting a regional. My guess would be Arkansas, Florida or us. I don't know if Alabama St (projected) is really any good, and that's why they project them to Auburn instead.quote:

Will say this, if things work out that way:
quote:
CORAL GABLES
1 Miami (11)
4 Wright State*
2 Tennessee
3 Kent State*

CONWAY
1 Coastal Carolina* (10)
4 UNC Wilmington*
2 South Carolina
3 NC State

That sucks. They shouldn't even bother playing.
