WMU is basically a directional school and was 18-36 last year with a very weak schedule. I get it, LSU is loaded, but the homers are acting like we just smoked Vanderbilt.

Western actually impressed me with their fundamentals. We didn’t explode as many times as I thought we would but they’re a solid squad who will make some noise in their conference this year.

Western also returned almost all of its starting lineup. They aren’t great but they are expected to compete for their conference this year. Only giving up 5 runs to that much experience on the 1st weekend is worth noting. Doesn’t mean anything in the long term but this weekend was a success.

It was never about western mich. LSU proved the hype is warranted based on how they played pretty much all weekend. This team is going to be fun to watch. If you can’t see that, you’re missing the boat.

So, I just don’t understand this post. It’s obvious that WMU is not an SEC opponent and the expectation is that we would get strike outs and home runs…….but they had to actually do that. And they did. Expectations were met. They were not perfect but were really good.
