Most of us who are done with him had no problem with Will Wade the coach. It was Will Wade the shitty program manager who couldn’t be bothered to use a fricking bagman. Wade wasn’t Woody’s hire, but he didn’t fire him like some ADs would have after the FBI bullshite. THAT would have been a mistake, but some would have still used it as cover to make their own hire. He didn’t pull the trigger until the depths of Wade’s fricking stupidity were revealed by the NOA.
You want to be mad at Woody for McMahon, go ahead. Maybe he ends up being a bad hire, but he’s going to get at least another season to try and turn things around. At the very least, he’s in over his head this season.
But that has nothing to do with dumping Wade because he was too stupid to have a fall guy lined up like all the other programs you guys keep pointing at. Hell, even Freeze was smart enough to do that when it came to paying players, even while he was calling hookers on his state-issued cell phone.
