What do y’all think of Quincey Wiggins?

He was a big time recruit. Didn’t play much this year. But I’m still expecting big things from him in the next 2-3 year.
That video of him and Big Will going against each other at camp is amazing.

Hope he stays. We'll need his addition to the defense. Looks like a monster.

Quincey Wiggins has all the physical tools.
He was coming off an injury last year from a pretty bad accident where a car hit him on a moped and he went flying. There is a video of this somewhere. It looked pretty bad. I don't know the extent of his injuries other than a broken wrist. The point is he was overcoming those injuries last year.
Not only overcoming those injuries last year, Quincey really doesn't have that much experience on the football field. It's my understanding he only played 2 years of high school football. So combined with the injury and lack of football inexperience, Quincey has a lot of catching up to do.
But his physical measurables can really speed up that process. I was really happy to see him play in the Citrus Bowl. That's an indication he is making progress.
From a physical standpoint the sky is the limit. Just apply the mental part of the game with work ethic and Quincey can do some great things as an LSU Tiger and can most certainly work himself into a high NFL draft pick in a couple of years.

Watching him fly through the air was wild. Thought he was Lucky to be alive and he just walked it off.

Man that clip is horrifying and he just casually gets up like no big deal

I totally forgot about that. Definitely helps explain taking things slow with him this season. That video was scary and he was pretty lucky all things considered.

Well limped it off with a broken ankle but he's very very lucky! Could have easily been seriously injured or killed. I think the upside for Wiggins is huge and we need him to step it up this year big time!

Looks like the internet has scrubbed that video. It was linked on the recruiting board to a Twitter video and that link is no longer valid.

All the tools are there, he’s just learning to use them.
Expect to see a lot more of him this fall and for him to start establishing himself

Yep. He has the size and physical attributes NFL teams covet. The question is can he be a good football player? He didn't really start playing football until later in HS. Ali Gaye is the most recent example of a guy who physically has everything you want. He just didn't have the innate sense of the subtleties it takes to be a good football player because it was not a game he grew up playing or was even around. Contrast that with a guy like Mekhi Wingo who doesn't necessarily have the ideal physical attributes to be a great DT, but just flat knows how to play the game to make the best of what he does have.
If the coaches can teach Wiggins how to play well he could be a 1st round pick. If not, he'll be another guy that looks like a monster but doesn't have the production to match.

He’s a year away from being a full time contributor. He is very raw and hopefully he has the patience to understand that.

Not sure why he didn't play more. Might just be what every freshman goes through. Or they didn't want to rush him after getting ran over. He didn't seem to sustain serious injury from that but who knows.

Since you brought up Ali Gaye, Ali never seemed to have the flexibility required to be an elite edge rusher. Sure he has a really nice frame for the position but IMO lacks the flexibility that elite edge rushers have. What I mean by flexibility is the ability to get low and still maintain speed, power and change of direction. BJO had/has that.

Scottering skillz are suspect

I’m told he knows better than to throw eggshells in the garbage disposal

I love the kid. If he sticks with the Tigers and is patient he will be a real beast before he leaves.
