Carter picking up Daniels...

This may have been covered... if so, cut me some slack... I may be wrong here...but the play where Carter picked Daniels up got in my craw. I was angry. He's like he was playing with him and the crowd cheered! Like Christians being fed to the lions in the Coliseum. Did anyone else not like that or just me?

I thought it was humiliating. And I hope the players and coaches duly noted it

It should have been a penalty and I believe he should’ve been ejected. As a coach if my player did that I would take his arse out of the game.

I hate that they throw flags for taunting, excessive celebration, and whatever. But being as they do, and those are the rules, I have no earthly idea how that wasn’t a penalty.

I mean I think it was better that he did that then throwing him to the ground, which he could have easily done and probably hurt him even more.
If one of our DL did that to an opposing QB, y’all would be going crazy about how awesome that was. Just gotta imagine if the shoe was on the other foot.

Because it is. But we probably would have been flagged for it

I hate that the OL did not retaliate on him during the game. Showed they did not respect their own teammate to have his back. Old School would have clipped him the next series or even next play to protect their QB.

It clearly should have been unsportsmanlike conduct. If he just picked him up to prevent injury, as the announcers later tried to spin it, why did he raise one finger in victory at the same time?
Just another example that the SEC officiating is crooked. Not the worst example from last night, which was the pickup of the targeting call.

Not a big deal for me. He could have hurt Daniels bad and didn't.
Maybe call unsportsmanlike conduct for putting up the finger, but even that would have been weak sauce.
The 2pt pissed me off way more.
GEAUX TIGERS!

Exactly
How many times did HP40 stand over a QB this year? Most all of us loved it

It should have been. I’ve never seen a guy showboat like that without earning a flag. It wasnt unnecessary roughness. And had he picked him up one handed and put him down like he did and celebrated with his teammates or with the crowd after he let him go that would have been one thing, but to signal to the crowd while holding him like a trophy that’s unsportsmanlike.
You can throw in the non call on hitting Clayton early on the punt return, the reversal of the targeting call which was pretty textbook according to the rules, and probably a couple of holding/pass interference calls on Georgia dbs on some early drives and you’re looking at 60+ yards of penalties the officials could have called on georgia.
Probably wouldn’t have affected the overall outcome because our defense had no answer for their offense and our special teams once again caused a huge swing in momentum in the wrong direction. But Georgia got away with some plays yesterday that they shouldn’t have.

All he did was bear hug and lift him. He set him down when the whistles blew. Nothing to it. If he would have slammed him to the turf, then yes flag it.

Rubbed me the wrong way too. Carter was disrespecting JD I thought.
Taunting.

Should have been an unsportsmanlike penalty!!!

Exactly. It’s football and I don’t really see what was so wrong about what Carter did. If he would have slammed him to the ground, all of us and the players would have had a huge problem with that, and rightfully so too. We just have soft fans.
