Badger on a different level though. He knocks it out towards the end zone and immediately flips around to scoop it up.

Love Perkins but those plays aren't on the same level.

I don’t care about the comparison. I’m just happy that both of these guys chose to wear purple and gold!

True.

But in all fairness, if Jay Ward doesn't run into Perkins trying to go after the loose ball, then Harold was well on his way to the end zone.

No matter which way you chop it up, LSU D's future is very bright with Harold Perkins in the mix.

Perkins may well turn out to be a better conventional player (more size & speed), but Mathieu's near-magical instincts and hand-eye coordination may never be matched on a football field. Almost every time a ball comes within arm's reach of Honey Badger, he had it. And his instinctive body control (especially on punt returns) was just phenomenal.

Agreed that we are blessed they both chose the Purple & Gold!

Also noting that the first clip really doesn't compare; that Tiger didn't even force a fumble on that play!

2011 Mathieu was on a different level.

And I say that not taking away anything from HP because he is a beast.

He is still a true freshman, so he has two more years to try and get to that level. I’m excited to see if he does

Such BS that he gets robbed of that sack because the ball went forward.

If Perkins teammate doesn't get in his way he scoops up fumble he caused and returns it for TD. Would have been
awesome! I would say he is getting there and Mathieu has set the bar for sure. HP40 is just going to get better and better. His teammates seem to like him and they are enjoying his success as well. House is scheming defense around him and that's a good thing. Tigers get their act together on offensive side of the football we'll be in every game rest of the season. I like our chances.

He's just a freshman at this point though.
