JD Paralysis by Analysis

Paralysis by Analysis. JD needs to run a fast-paced offense. When we run at a faster pace where JD does not have to think as much, we do a lot better. The plays are slow coming in. I see so much confusion and indecision in his eyes. He just does not look comfortable. LSU is in a world of hurt if the coaches do not see this. When he has to think more the play goes to $hit. RPO at a faster pace. Yes ?

Careful, the Church Of Daniel members may get upset.

I’ve wondered why we haven’t played more hurry-up lately.

The most frustrating thing about Daniels is that he has the physical tools to be successful, but not the mental tools. He doesn’t process what he’s seeing fast enough, and when he does, he’s petrified to throw the ball unless the receiver is wide open.
The hurry up offense is what he needs. We should be running what Tennessee does.

It definitely worked for Tenn this week. We have a QB with similar skills at Hooker but the Tenn staff recognized they were more productive when they go fast.
There's are reason JD's best plays have come in the 2nd and 4th quarters. He plays best in chaos.

Where do they play that camera angle, The Ocho?

I’ve said it since the last drive against FSU! Throw the whole damn playbook away except for the two minute offense amd let it eat!! He excels at uptempo in my opinion amd that’s because it is fast developing plays along with not giving him time to think..
All you needs is 3.5 yards a play.. if you throw a million short slants, outs, curls, crosses who gives a shite

We never run hurry up when it's clear as crystal JD plays significantly better in a hurry up offense.
I agree. We need to start running a more hurry up fast paced offense.

We don’t want too many quick possessions. The fans hate it but our formula to win is what we did against Mississippi State, play good defense, run the ball, and win the turnover battle. We are looking to win 24-17 games, not 45-38.

During the game he needs a coach to grab him by the face mask and tell him, “if you have 1 on 1 and do not take a shot throwing it deep, your arse is coming out the game.”

perhaps he needs less time to think and just react. I agree we need to play fast, supposedly like they practiced before the season started.

JD is a little bit better than JJefferson. And Max Johnson. He is not a top tier SEC QB.
Now our offensive line is not top tier either.
Two of our better linemen out will be a challenge at Florida

While at the game Saturday, I started paying close attention to JD post snap. As soon as he received and secured the ball, his head was turned toward the primary receiver for that route. He waited until the receiver broke, confirmed he was open, then threw the ball. No anticipation. No check downs.
He isn’t paralyzed by analysis. He’s focused on the primary receiver for that route and either they get open or they don’t. If they don’t, he doesn’t have time to scan the field before getting pressure due to the OL issues.
This explains why he appears to be holding the ball too long (the primary receiver is running a route that takes too long to develop) or he doesn’t see wide open receivers downfield.
