Were high school athletes previously forbidden from making money on their name? Seems strange that that rule wouldve been in place.

ETA:

The LHSAA has also received inquiries from epidemiologists asking if they can pay LHSAA athletes to doing vaccine public service announcements. Bonine said the answer is yes.

Yea I went all this time without getting the vaccine but now that some 14 year old tells me to get it I think I'm finally convinced.

I don't think they were except that anyone wanting to play in the NCAA effectively was because they would have been ineligible for NCAA participation if they were.

It opens up people to start paying recruits NIL deals in high school.

Dylan Moses would’ve gotten a couple 100k in 8th grade.

Texas doesn't allow high schoolers or kids under 18 to make NIL deals. That's why Quinn Ewers went to tOSU for a year.

Are you mad that the 14 year old is far more intelligent than you or that he makes more money than you? Because both are true.

That sounds like something you made up or misread.

Many private schools, including Catholic, give scholarships to low income students with exceptional athletic (or other) abilities. That is nothing like NIL payments.

maybe I was thinking about "The Blind Side"

but seriously I think there was a bit of truth to that, been a while, but I have definitely seen that even when I was a kid, hell, even saw that at my daughter's(no pics,) school, she went to a Christian school in FL that didn't even have a football team until her junior year, very small school, all of a sudden there were four or five new students going to the school(pretty expensive,) that were actual stud football players, they didn't live in the area, they were from the ghetto(Riviera Beach, Fl,) all wearing fine fancy threads, driving new whips, and were immediately competitive in their league, the star running back lived with one of the hot young school admins, she ended up getting a divorce, he ended up playing for the Gators

I'll give you one that is fact. Eddie Lee Hurts "signed" w/the agreement that he would get all the money out of the soda machines , candy machines ,snacks ,chips etc. This was for his attending a certain magnet high school. Too bad he was prior the Charger give away.

Cool, but none of that has anything to do with you disparaging Guice and Catholic High.

And I dislike both.
