This is not an indictment of Crews - merely to show how one great player could have turned things around this weekend.

OU Game
6th inning - after two missiles for line outs, singles to CF, thrown out at 2nd.
8th inning - Morgan double, Crews K, followed by Doughty bomb.
10th inning - Morgan double, Crews fouls out, Doughty double.

Texas Game
3rd inning - 1st and 2nd, 2 down - Crews Ks.

Baylor Game
4th inning - 2nd and 3rd, 2 down (chance to widen lead), Crews grounds out to SS.
6th inning - bases juiced, 2down, Crews pops out to SS.
9th inning - pops out to 2b before Berry bomb.

Crews will not have a weekend like this again.

I also think he was trying to kill the ball over the train this weekend as well in front of the scouts and in that ballpark. This is the first “slump” we have seen Crews go in but it shouldn’t last long. Also don’t think many SEC teams will have arms the way Texas did, but watching him have an awful game against Baylor was just strange to watch. He’s still the best player on the team.

Crews wasn’t very good with runners on base last year. Part of the reason he was batting lead off.

He likely will. The best players can have a bad series or even a bad stretch of games.

What was he slashing with risp? Because he had 42 rbi with trash hitting in front of him and the majority of those came from base hits. Almost all of his home runs were solo shots.

The “Crews was bad at driving in runs” narrative seems to have been made up out of thin air.

3rd on the team in RBI as the lead off hitter. Hmm

I highly doubt he is trying to get his name out there.

Probably pressing a little. He went from hitting ropes in the OU game to Ks in the Texas game to infield popups against Baylor.

No if somebody puts it on the internet its because its true. Otherwise they wouldn't put it out there.

Funny how stats seem to tell the truth, it will generally shut down the negative narrative.

Granted. I was merely highlighting Crews, because he is our best pro prospect by far.

You’re right about one thing. He had dead pull on his mind. He never had a shot to do what Doughty did oppo

Bregman gave more credit to Crews than he gives to himself. He said Crews has power to all fields. Now he just has to show it

Morgan lead off more than Crews did.
He had the same number of RBIs as Crews did but 12 less homers. For other reasons and not just ftom batting lead off Crews was not a big rbi guy.

By a very small margin. He also hit 3rd in the order more than Crews did and 5th in the order once which are prototypical RBI spots. Negligible at best. Hell if Crews wasn’t lead off as much as he was he would have blew RBI numbers out of the water. Seemingly all of his home runs came with bases empty it felt like.

List them. I’m genuinely curious what evidence there is to support any of these claims.

Strangely, no one seems to be able to prove it. Maybe you can.
