Losing an OOC game for a 9th conference game sounds terrible.

Is losing the Northwestern/eastern Louisiana State game so horrifying for you guys? I'd give up the Georgia State/Southern game in a heartbeat. I hate playing teams like that.

Honestly I'd like to go to 10 games in conference. It would allow you to play all teams every two years. (6 in division, 1 perm, 3 rotate)

The days of Undefeated SEC teams would be over if we went to 9 conference games.

Pac 12 does it? Who cares. Hell, I'd play 10 Pac 12 games, but then my strength of schedule goes down.

As far as permanent interdivision rivals? Keep them.

LSU Fla is awesome
Bama Tenn is necessary
AU UGA is the oldest rivalry and worth watching every year

If they do it then the rest have to.

Its only fair that if we have to play UF every year, that we rotate another EAST team in the mix. Same with everyone else.

True, MSU and OLE MISS benefit from their sorry arse constants with VANDY and Kentucky...but they are not the top of the heap like LSU/BAMA/AU.

To sum it up, rivalries is what makes the SEC more passionate. TVs tune in to Bama Tennessee no matter how bad UT is. Remember, UT won like, 5 in a row against Bama at one time.

Perfeclty said.

I know everyone thinks Tennessee and Alabama are trying to hold everyone back, but there is something to be said for preserving tradition.

It would not surprise me at all if people one day look back and regret letting money become such a big factor in college football.

I'd prefer to have Bama in the same division as Tennessee and have no permanent cross division games, but I know that won't happen.

Ideally, I'd prefer to have 10 team conferences and round robin play, but that's certainly a pipe dream.

The better question is why is LSU so eager to get out of the annual game with Florida?

It is only an issue because it involves Alabama, and Auburn. If the games that were the "traditional Rivalries" were LSU vs Florida and Ky vs Ole Miss, the SEC office would have announced the schedules two days after admitting Mizzou with this statement;

"We are sorry that some traditional rivalries were disrupted by this but this is our new 14 team SEC schedules"

Because its not fair that we have to play a traditionally strong east opponent every year

So swap UF for Vandy or Kentucky and take the SOS hit in the computers.

I keep missing out on the Tennessee posters on message boards complaining about playing a tradionally strong western opponent in Bama, or Auburn/UGA complaining about having to play historically strong teams every year.

Still missing the point, I don't want to even face the same weak eastern opponent every year. Rotate them all every 2 years with home and homes. I don't give a frick if Bama can't play Tennessee or Auburn can't play Georgia every year

no, just rotate the teams. Its a crying shame LSU never got to play against Peyton Manning, one time. Expanding to 7 teams means it will be 6 years between playing some teams. that's like not even being in the same conference.

The UGA-AU and UAT-UT game do not make SEC football any better. If we lost those games the only people who might be pissed or those in that fanbase. It hurts the conference as a whole.

All of the West teams (except LSU) are winning against their East team permanent rivalry. Not one of the East schools are complaining about having to play their permanent rivalry.

LSU is really coming off as whiners which is very unbecoming of a powerhouse program.
