I was at A&M years back and someone yelled Uncover at me.....I yelled back...GO frick Yourself...

This Aggie chick I was with and her friends kind of rolled their eyes at the Aggie who yelled at me...

Questions about a tradition?

What happens to all the pennies that people leave on the statue of Sul Ross (the greatest Aggie President ever--without him there is no A&M) for good luck?

I don't understand people wanting to walk on the grass at the Memorial Student Center. The Memorial Student Center is a living memorial to those who died in the World Wars, we respect those fallen Aggies by removing your hats when you step inside the building and by not walking on the grass surrounding the facility. Feel free to walk on the grass anywhere else.

Drop the gay male cheerleaders and get female cheerleaders.

Not a question.

Drop the "saw the horns off" thing at every single game played against teams not named the longhorns. You can't saw horns off a tiger, bulldog, gator, comodore, volunteer, rebel, gamecock, eagle, or a wildcat.
If you want to start a "saw the tusks off" thing for Bama and Arkansas, have at it. I'm sure it will catch on.
And change your fight song, unless you're gonna start calling Tenn TU

They're nice to look at, but about as useful as a bench. What on earth do cheerleaders accomplish?

Absolutely nothing, but football teams have female cheerleaders. Just how it is.

Thanks Typo, I for one am interested in our new neighbor. Good to know about the grass on the Memorial and uncovering. Hope to put both to use sometime soon.

Oh, and here's an Aggie tradition that you need to show everybody: make sure you always bring that superb band whenever you visit. If bands counted towards championships you guys would be in Atlanta every year.

Yell Leaders do accomplish something. I'm not sure how other teams coordinate yells, outside of things like texas fight or war eagle. Go much longer than 2 words and you are leaving the realm of fans being able to coordinate themselves it seems.

They send blood to a particular part of the body (and yes, I do know and don't care that they are called 'song girls').

$.

They currently do a number of bus trips to conference games and are going to Arlington this weekend, but its going to cost more to get them to fly to more than 1 or 2 SEC games each year.

I've never had a problem finding something to look at on a college campus. Seeing as I'm normally at the top of the zone, there's usually much closer eye candy than a cheerleader 500' away.

It honestly is ridiculous. There are some people on campus who just love being uncover nazi's. Game last week some jackass student honestly was getting pissed off at some dad who was there for the game with his student daughter. He kept yelling uncover at him each time we would do a yell, but you aren't even supposed to uncover when doing a yell.

I can understand the value of some traditions such as the not walking on the grass around the MSC because it's a memorial. It's under construction currently though so no need to worry about walking on any of the grass. I thought it was pretty sad though when I was talking to a freshman girl and she was pretty scared to walk on any of the grass becuase she wasn't sure what she was allowed to walk on and what not. Some people just need to calm down a little, if I ever see one of our fans yelling at a visiting team for unknowingly not following a tradtion I will gladly tell them to stfu.

If I ever see someone with a hat on in the MSC, I walk up to them and nicely ask them to remove it and will explain why if needed.

This "tradition" is more of a sign of respect and only has jurisdiction on one building, the Memorial Student Center; a building meant to honor those fallen Aggies who died during their service of WWII.

On a related note, Freshmen in the Corps are not allowed to take any shortcuts, and therefore must walk down the length of a sidewalk to get where they're going, i.e. not walk on ANY grass.

Hope that helps.

Yell Leaders
Drop the tradition of trying to make your school less gay by calling your male cheerleaders "yell leaders."

They are males and they lead cheers, therefore they are male cheerleaders.

If you listen to us, you'll be better off in no time.
