If you need cheerleaders THAT badly, Scruffy, go to Reed Arena and catch a basketball game
I don't need cheerleaders that badly, not nearly as badly as you guys apparently need your male cheerleaders.

Personally, I'd have no problem with having female yell leaders at all, so long as the yells themselves and the tradition didn't change.
Awesome. We have made some progress.

Don't take anything I say personally...It is all in good fun. Welcome to the SEC and you can join Arky in the "Technically Part of the SEC, But Only In Name" corner.

I know, it's all good--just glad to be officially joining this conference not stuck in the Big 12-2-1 anymore lol. Gotta expect some hazing--we're the new kids on the block after all, right?

If I may ask, other than your school's fight song, when do you do what the cheerleader's say?

We don't, other than a few organized chants like "rammer jammer" etc.

We spend the majority of the game actually watching it and screaming and yelling at the top of our lungs trying to affect the opposing offense while it is on the field. Or just cheering after our offense makes a good play.

If y'all wanna have your weird little organized chants that require you to be directed like a band, that's fine. Just get some hot chicks to at least help with the organizing so you don't look so gay.

Watching that video made me wonder the same thing, maybe they do them during tv timeouts or something.

You pretty much have it. The traditions at A&M make them different from everyone else. Some of these traditions are weird, no doubt. Their passion for their sports teams, however do fit with the SEC. It is a great venue for college football, and they are great fans to tailgate with. My guess is that when they start their SEC schedule, they will go out of their way to be hospitable to the rest of us.

On a serious note, I hope the Texas cattle industry survives this terrible year - a trip to Texas isn't complete without a BBQ stop for brisket and sausage.

I did have these things called wets (fries with a thick homemade brown gravy on them) while in amarillo. Those were pretty tasty.

Yeah, always during stoppages in play. TAMU actually has a pretty football-savvy crowd (like most SEC schools). Loud as frick when we're on defense, but quiet when the O has the ball.
