It's possible to be both. Wait till you go to Athens and Oxford.

I can't wait to go to both. If we announce that we're headed to the SEC, my wife and I are considering taking a weekend trip to Ole Miss this year to watch a game, just to get a feel and enjoy an SEC game.

m not saying University Golf Course is Pebble Beach, but we are in an absolute bitch of a drought. Maybe the worst in the history of the area.

This is true, (my yard makes me want to ) but, CS as a whole is still pretty generic and crappy. You guys have the shite hole called Lubbock beat, though. I no longer have to go CS for work, but I still do Lubbock. I would kill to trade.

I'll take Tuscaloosa all day long, and it sucks outside of the campus/strip/downtown area.

Our fans IRL are some of the nicest in the nation. On the internet, I'm not sure what happens

I know plenty of Aggies here in East Texas and had a great time with them in Dallas. Good people.

A&M is the most prominent fan base in East Texas. Oddly enough, we struggle to recruit East Texas.

Fran pissed off a lot of coaches. Sherman is still mending fences

man, i've never been there and i have trouble believing you. no offense of course. a college town with 50,000 students surely has some entertainment venues. college kids love to drink, hear music and have a good time. i could believe that there is a lack of diversity in the music and food but they probably do what they do well.

It's a strip center town with no visual appeal and the party scene is just different. All in all it is just REALLY "meh". Nothing to write home about, but then again it's being compared to Austin usually, which is an awesome city.

Anyone who thinks CS comes close to sniffing Austin is a dumb arse.

I completely agree and think the comparisons are ridiculous. CS is a college town with 60,000 or so people. Austin is a major metropolitan area and the city itself is around 800,000. For a college town, CS is not that bad.

Heck, first YP I attended I was 10 years old. Pretty cool to an outsider kid, I must admit. Last one I attended was before the 1989 game... understood a lot more of what was being said being a UA frosh. Had a case of the chapped arse that night (but the next day was oh so Cotton soft)

The Northriver area is really nice as well. Tuscaloosa isn't great, but it has dramatically improved since I was in school.

I don't know why some SEC fans are giving A&M fans so much crap. At least let them get in the conference and give us a reason to be pissed at them.

Oxford and Columbia are the best college towns in the SEC IMO..Athens would be 3rd.
