So if the Big12 stays together and the Big East says it will too=SEC13?

WTF dude. we need a 14th team. Looks like the big 12 will be salvaged at the twelfth hour again (no mizzou) and the big east reaffirmed their happiness with their current state of affairs (no WVU). The SEC needs to grow a pair and steal a team from someone or tell a&m to gtfo b/c we're not sticking at 13. What's the next move going to be?

The SEC will have 13 members for one year.
The ACC showed themselves to be desperate with Pitt and 'Cuse. Big East is toast.
SEC will quietly work with prospective #14 member to do everything right and enter the SEC East in 2013. TV contracts will be renegotiated as soon as #14 announces and will be in place by the time #14 starts SEC play.
Keep your eyes on the state of North Carolina.

unless the sec grabs vt, unc, clemson, or fsu, it should stay at 13. no need to have 14 just for the sake of having 14.

yeah because 13 works out friggin perfect with even divisions and all....
it's not for the sake of it tard. it's so the conference can function properly

I hear that Tulane used to be in the SEC...

TCU is a horrible addition. A&M already delivers the DFW tv market. Adding TCU would cost every SEC member a lot of $.
Don't think like a fan, think like Slive.

I can't believe I am about to say this but I agree with you.

This is difficult - it really is. It's like saying, "Having a TV contract that imposes an 11:21am home kickoff is best for LSU."
I understand financially, but I hate it from a football standpoint.

Clemson or Fl St makes for a nice complimentary addition with A&M for my 2 cents that aren't worth much.

Will the addition of FSU put a strain on UF's recruiting?

That hit by Coryatt would be a penalty today. That one hit seemed to boost his draft status and he wound up a big time bust.

Patience. The SEC could make 13 work for a year or two. I sort of like the Auburn president's suggestion of having A&M play one year in the SEC West and then one year in the SEC East, as sort of an introduction to the league.
Looks like it's going to be two years before those Big East teams join the ACC. I think that will give the ACC schools that care about football (Va. Tech, FSU, Clemson, and maybe Ga. Tech) some time to think about if they really want to hitch their wagon to a league that will look more like the Big East than the SEC.

Don't discount OU, OSU and Mizzou to the SEC. OU still isn't happy with big brother and now they have no Pac-12 leverage. They might listen to Slive's siren song now.
This would be VERY good for LSU:
West: OU, OSU A&M, Mizzou, Arky, LSU, MSU, Ole Miss
East: Bama, Aubie, Fla, UGa, Tenn, Vandy, Ky, SC
So what if the Bevo+five sue? The Big East sued the ACC after Miami, VT and BC left, but they couldn't stop it. Slive can just write them a check and then they can add BYU, TCU, Houston, Rice, UTEP and SMU and keep their name. Or change it to the "Not-as-Big-12."

North Carolina is a tough nut to crack. UNC isn't realistic. The ACC is their country club and if they were ever to leave, it would be to the Big 10, never to the SEC. NC State is often mentioned, but UNC and NC State are governed by the same board of regents, so it would be a political feat to split them apart. NC State wants to be a basketball school and I can't see them being good in football even w/ the SEC resources. Virginia Tech would be easier to attract and would be a much better fit.

Then just eliminate the divisons. Give everyone 1-2 permanent rivalry games, and then put everyone else on a rotation.
Best two teams play for the championship at the end.
In the other thread I posted, I dont think the SEC needs a 14th team. If you can get someone like VT or UNC that is great, if not its ok. Why? Because I think an SEC network is in the future and adding teams that come from small states or teams already in an SEC state do not help.
Getting A&M just expanded the subscriber base probably 40%.
The schedules will get worked out. More money will be made by all.

frick that. We're not going to get rid of divisions just to accommodate fricking A&M.
