Got this idea from a Hokie board. We'd own college football.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO...The SEC should want nothing to do with Duke, Wake, Maryland, NC State, etc. This would make the SEC weaker, not stronger.

Yeah, only two teams in that "Gulf" division are in a state that touches the Gulf. And neither of those schools in Florida are really near the Gulf.
