Sad to see the SEC letting anyone in conference.

I don't see how the conference can still be called the Southeastern Conference if Missouri joins. I like the idea all the teams are presently from sounthern states. Now conference name will have no bearing.

I bet you remember when a coke cost a nickel.

I agree with OP. Don't want Mizzou. I want a NC team or FSU.

I don't see how Dallas Cowboys are in the NFC East and Texas Rangers are in AL West
On a serious note, Mizzou is not joining the SEC

What about a school from Mexico?

The Confederacy recognized the pro-Confederate claimants in both Kentucky and Missouri and laid claim to those states based on their authority, with representatives from both states seated in the Confederate Congress. Later versions of Confederate flags had 13 stars, reflecting the Confederacy's claims to Kentucky and Missouri, and the large numbers of soldiers they provided.
Close enough! YEEEEEEE HAAAAAWWWWW!!!!

Just grab Cuba. Doesn't get more Southeast than that.

I already suggested Monterrey Tech in a thread somewhere.
90k students
multiple campuses
top academics
opens up huge tv markets
11 American football championships from '98-'08

Missouri makes about as much geographic sense as Kentucky or West Virginia. As long as it borders the nucleus of the conference, I don't think the conference geography is lost.

Welcome to the 21st century of college football. See PAC-10. Either we adapt, or over time become irrelevant and get cannibalized like the Big East is now.
Refusal to change is a poor business model (see K-MART, XEROX).

Hell. Y'all figure it out. Looks like if you call Kentucky the "southwest" you have to also call WV and Misery SW too.

Florida State makes more sense to me. What does Missouri bring to the table except TV markets? The money once again is ruining college sports. I personally would have like Houston and Florida State in the SEC.

You're going to have to traslate that map for the gumps on this thread, fyi

You do understand that "gumps" is representative of Alabama fans, don't you?

I fail to see why anyone would want Houston in the SEC.

Same reason to keep Vandy?
4 hours away, don't like the idea this conference is looking for teams up north and further away
Houston is just as competitive as other bottom schools in the SEC in all sports. Houston is a huge market. I would rather Texas to come over any other team the SEC is looking at.
