Makes a lot of sense to me. The SEC is a dying breed.

There's no way this would ever happen, but IF it ever did, whoever the AD is at that time better damn well have a panic room in his house.

practically zero posts discussing the pros and cons of LSU seceding to the big xii...

like the SEC, big xii athletics have great success in almost all their sports.

big xii region includes several of the largest metropolitan areas in the country... all in Texas

review and compare the television markets in the SEC and big xii...

eventually these conferences will have to expand to expand their revenue bases... perhaps that means Miami and UNC join the SEC...

perhaps TCU, Utah, Arkansas and LSU join Texas, OU and Texas A&M in the big xii.

Texas THINKS they are Harvard-West and they look down on the SEC school academically. They also would be scared of the additional competition!

I mean, hey, MOST of the posts I read on this board lately cause me to lose a little bit of brain cells each time, but this one takes the cake.

I don't think he saying that this will happen. U guys are like a bunch of nerds fighting over one drunk chick. Y'all want to be first to point out who's wrong. Just be open
minded for a sec , then have grown up conversation.

I for one would be pissed if they moved. Sec is a big reason why kids come here.

I can't think of one reason why that would be a good idea.

I would not miss some of the blatant "gaming" that has been going on with SEC officials over the last few years.

Think of how Alabama gets special treatment by the SEC. Now, multiply that by 10 and you have Texas with the Big XII. Multiply it by about 100 and you have Texas with the old SWC. The SEC has a ton of corruption and bias, but it's nowhere close to as bad as any conference with Texas in it.

Not really, LSU got $17.3M last year from the SEC. Texas and OU will both get over $20M under the new contract with Big 12...A&M and most of the others will get $17M.

So you think adding two more teams wouldnt cause that money to be divided up any differently? You think they are going to print an extra 34-40 million dollars? The Big 12 isnt the government Barack.

Great idea and to make up the loss of revenue they just need to raise ticket prices about $30 a game.

If your administration ever even considered this, the piss bomb arsenal that would be hurled at them would be nothing short of cataclysmic. Baton Rouge would likely fall into the ocean and flood all portions of Louisiana south of BR. On a side note, the new name for the bay created would undoubtedly be, Piss Bomb Bay, which has a nice ring to it.

This is a pointless thread. Nobody wants to leave the SEC since it generates the most money...

you are right that no one is looking to leave the SEC, but its not making or generating the most money. The Big 10+2 was before and if the reported numbers are true, so will the big 12-2.
