The SEC is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. As the expansion talks continue, the word is that the new East will gain Auburn and bama will stay in the new West. It seems that the bosses in Bham are trying to create an all Alabama SEC championship game. I am not giving the West to bama because LSU will continue to challenge each year but it looks fishy. Take a look at the map and this would be, geographically, the West (TAMU, Mizzou, Arky, LSU, Ole Myth, Moos St. and Vandy).

So is Alabama voting against it to tell their fans, see it wasn't us, we wanted Auburn in the west?

Considering Bama doesn't want Auburn to go East, I doubt it.

Need to divide the power. The East would have Bama, Auburn, Florida, UGA, UT, and USCe on one side if you move Vandy to the West. As an LSU fan I'd love it, but I also realize that would never happen.

I am not sure that 12 year olds should be on the board at all.

So you're saying you're older than that?

I looked at the map this morning and thought the same thing. As much as I'd love this split, it'll never happen...too much power in the East. For years, the East had an easier road to success in the SEC because Kentucky and Vandy have historically been Cup Cakes. Ole Miss and Miss State are usually "middle of the pack" teams and sometimes compete at a higher level (Ole Miss under Eli and Miss St last year)but they are not consistently BAD like KU and Vandy.

Here's the rub: Say the SEC approves Missouri, you sure as hell don't want them to go to the East. That would mean the East would have KU, Vandy, and Missouri as 3 out of 7 games.

Missouri's recent record. not exactly UK and Vandy.

2010 10 3
2009 8 5
2008 10 4
2007 12 2
2006 8 5
2005 7 5

They haven't played a full SEC schedule...have they?

You put KU and Vandy in the Big XII and they get 8 wins a year...every year.

You put Ole Miss and Miss St in the Big XII, they go to 9-10 wins a year.

Mark my words Bama will get what they want, they will keep Tenn as a rival thereby ensuring everyone else's schedule is screwed

If I'm not mistaken, Tuscaloosa is further west than Nashville. Auburn moving to the East would divide the conference pretty much evenly, geographically speaking.

If B'ham is the center of the SEC universe, then I-65 is the perfect dividing line. (Except that Vandy is technically west, but only by a couple hundred yards)
Move Aubie. Be done with it.
