When you land a big fish it happens quickly, there is an announcement and its done. There isnt a 3 week long beauty pageant and public bidding war.
The pattern continues at LSU... They put all eggs in one basket and get stuck with a B or C tier fallback option. Its happened in every football coaching search since Miles was run off. Its happening again now.
I will say this, its entertaining to watch.

No it really doesn't happen quickly. Especially in the middle of the season with a coach that is potentially coaching in the playoffs. Nice troll attempt though.

Look I'm all aboard the frick Brian Kelly train but you can't logically justify calling him a B or C tier option when he was hired here. That's absolute bullshite.

Ummm… Saban officially said no like last week. Kiffin has been the main target for about 4 days and people are hinting at a presser today about a deal signed yesterday

I guess this is true with the Ed O "search," but that landed us the 2019 championship season which exactly zero people would trade for whatever Tom Herman or Jimbo would have gotten us.
But while hindsight is 20/20, the Kelly hire was objectively a top tier hire at the time. Def not a "B or C tier fallback option," and the main competition at the time hasn't accomplished anything either.

We went from Saban to Kiffin to ultimately frank wilson and a 100 M contract and being told he was our guy the whole time, players coach, wil right the ship, etc

I’ll add this…
Most of us wanted Jimbo … looked like it was happening…. It didn’t… We definitely dodged a bullet
Most of us wanted Herman… looked like it was happening… it didn’t…. We definitely dodged a bullet
Most of us wanted Riley… looked like it was happening… it didn’t… we probably dodged a bullet
Seems most want Kiffin… looked like it was happening… maybe it doesn’t… it’s certainly a possibility that we will dodge a bullet
I’m still not convinced Kiffin is the right guy for LSU. Not at all saying I wouldn’t be cool with Kiffin at LSU…. Merely pointing out that sometimes it works out even when it doesn’t. If Kiffin doesn’t come to LSU, it very well could work out for the best.
