If Miles just had a good team and wom only 8 games, I wouldnt have a problem supporting him.

When he repeatly has one of the top 3 to 4 teams in the country, talent wise, and yet always seems to lose 2+ games.... yea not that happy about his results.

He'd just be calling people four-eyes and rolling with it. The middle schoolers are all in school so he has no source for more insults.

Saban was supposed to win it this year.

Instead goes out and loses 3.

What happened?
i'd like an answer to this as well.

Did you even read the link, moron? It says 'an occasional' 8 win season. Stop with the hysterical hyperbole!

Arguing with Morons never gets you anywhere... Dont worry about them.

Its a simple request. LSU is in the toughest division of the toughest conference in the nation and Les just wants a little more respect. Seriously, what more does he have to do for some? If the Tigers have problems and only win 8 games (can't believe i just said ONLY, people would kill to have our program) he doesn't want to be thrown to the wolves like he has been recently.

I have no problem with that, and if you are someone of sound mind I would hope you could read that not as an excuse to be "mediocre" but more as a sign of wanting more respect from his fan base, which he doesn't fricking get.

If he leaves, I really don't blame him. Our fans are morons

That would require taking a brief moment to use the brain. Don't hold your breath.

He's not saying he wants to be able to have 8 win seasons in perpetuity, but that if one or two rear their head during a down period, he shouldn't be catching flack from the AD that he catches from an overemotional fan base.

Bingo!

Jesus Christ! Either my sarcasm/joke meter is completely broken, or we have some legitimate morons on this board.

Absolutely not. Miles should not be assured of his job if he produces mediocre results. It's ridicuous. And unheard of. No school commits itself perpetually to mediocrity. Asw the employer, LSU should always reserve the right to assess Miles' performance on annual basis and act as it sees fit given that assessment.

So you think a coach should be fired for only winning 75% of his games in the SEC 3 out of 4 seasons?

I usually respect your posts, Josh, but you're just flat out wrong on this. You're usually not this drama queenish.....

Two months ago everyone wanted Miles' head. Now that they face the possibility of being "dumped" they're acting like jilted lovers, sweating it out, swearing that they're good enough and he can have whatever he wants. They remember all the good times, not Ole Miss, UTx2 and playing down to the level of the opponent.

The only person you l ike is Saban. It doesn't matter what Miles does, you're gonna have disdain for him. Please quit acting as if results have something to do with it.

Seriously maybe Les just needs to go then, 8 win seasons shouldn't be acceptable here, and 9 win seasons these days
When you're one of the top paid coaches in the country, 8-9 wins at LSU should not be satisfactory in anything but an isolated context.

Someone is yet to answer this: how exactly do you put that in a contract?

Coaching performance will not be evaluated unless in the event of 3 or more consecutive subpar seasons (indicated by a regular season finish in the lower 1/2 of conference division)

And yea, lawyer fail but I'd imagine thats a basic way of putting it.

you have no idea what you're talking about.

Miles isn't talking about perpetual "mediocrity". He's had 4 11 win seasons for Christs sake.

If Les stays...I'll love him - I'll know he really wants to be here - He can even make a few mistakes and I'll overlook them. Otherwise...just let him go where we always knew he wanted to be.

Yeah, we can't rationalize.

Our expectations are high, and they should be.

But dear god, people, we're in a conference that has won five straight national championships.

We're in a division that's won THREE national championships by three different teams in the last four friggin' years.

My expectations are high, but I can understand how Les feels.

Stop this crap.

Find ONE post of mine saying I did not support Miles. I can find HUNDREDS professing my admiration and support. I am not alone, either.
