It was...Les’ daughter hates Ed for a reason. Had a friend that talked to her recently and she REALLY fricking hates him

They kept moving the goalposts for Ed for a reason. It was fixed. You fought a battle you knew you couldn’t win publicly for Herman and then pretended Ed was your only option

Why ppl cant accept this is beyond me. The day he was hired, his wife was posting pics of them at UT when they met ect. It was always Texas.

He was in his second year as a HC at Houston. Texas did not have an opening until after they found out we were going for him. I know he wanted Texas. I get that. But... LSU comes knocking after the Florida game with 3 Million and he doesn't know when or if Strong will be fired. He comes to LSU. I don't know why people don't understand that.

Cant remember the last time I saw a HC leave his team mid season for another gig. And at the time LSU offered, Strong was still HC at UT. Herman still wanted to talk to them one more time.

Are you really so goddamn stupid that you think the list for HC job was Jimbo,Herman, Ed...that’s like saying I couldn’t eat steak or lobster so I ate a diaper out of the dumpster

This. I still can’t believe there are idiots here defending Ed Fricking Orgeron. Louisiana Tech would never have even hired him as a coordinator, much less HC. And LSU hired him. This was set up from the get go by the good ole boy network.

Perfect analogy.

It would have been cheaper to give 4.5 to Aranda, keep Canada and have Aranda hire a young DC for half a mill.

Ed only gets the job if he goes undefeated

Well as long as we don’t get beat badly by Bama, he may have a shot

Ahh shut out at home...well I think he still has a shot provided he doesn’t lose anymore games

Ok yeah he lost to Florida...but if he’s able to rally the guys and beat this shitty a&m team that shows a lot....YAYYYY WE FINALLY LOWERED THE BAR ENOUGH FOR UNCLE ED TO HOP OVER!!

It was fricking fixed, Ed sold himself as a package with Lane and our dumb shite AD bought it

You’re under the impression we really wanted Herman. O was always the guy, it was rigged from the start.

I don't think so.

I understand the argument, but there are many, many signs of incompetence in the AD office.

Alleva lost his top 2 guys, and had nothing else. The thought of restarting a search at that point scared him more than hiring Orgeron.

I want to believe this. But why did we need that ridiculous buyout? I am assuming Zero knew Alleva was up against a wall and negotiated it at the 11th hour. This whole thing seems like a train wreck we get to watch in slow motion over and over again.

Lol yea thats all we had to do lol. He was, texas all the way. Just used LSU to force Texas' hand. Not impressed with him so far, one good year at Houston, one poor year at Houston, one poor year at Texas.

How is this being upvoted?

Herman went to Texas. That's where he wanted to go. We weren't going to win a bidding war with them, and he certainly wouldn't have chosen is if the money were the same.

Alleva saves nickels and spends dollars. Completely inept.

Herman was NEVER COMING TO LSU.
Herman WANTED to be at U.T. from the very beginning.
Alleva may have screwed up AFTER, but he KNEW Herman wasn't coming and was playing LSU to get a better contract.

Herman was NEVER coming to LSU.

True.

Wonder what Dan Mullen would've said?
