Nonsense. Joe Sloan has nothing anywhere close to this and this board has him as Tier 1 and the no brainer hire.
He runs a gimmicky offense that I don’t believe is the right move. There’s nothing wrong with the offense we’re currently running and hiring a guy who would completely tear it down is stupid.

Right.
If LSU wasn’t leading for Underwood and on the verge of getting his commitment, people would be laughed off the board for suggesting Sloan.
LSU has tried the minimal experienced OC route before. One was successful and the other one was terrible. Sloans numbers at LATech is closer to the one that was terrible than the one that was successful.

All Ive read was the exact opposite when people talked about Sloan at LA Tech

Tell that to the Saints.

Dennis Allen was a proven loser before he got the saints job. Different situations.
I foresee Sloan getting Co-OC (or some title with $ attached to it) with whomever is hired and he will be groomed by this hire to take over. Cross training, if you will. Yes, these hires are made with the expectation f them succeeding and moving on up rather quickly.

Sloan didn't call plays at La Tech. Whoever Kelly hires will run Kelly's offense just like Denbrock did.

I'm not against Sloan. That said, continuity seems to not work out more often than it does. Always better off hiring the best possible fit. That may well be Sloan in BK's mind.
Just based off of rumblings on here, either BK is looking at options, or tis the season for agents to simply float rumors.

but he runs a very niche offense that Kelly is not going to want.
he runs slow mesh RPO.
LINK
brady ran pro style spread using whole field with vertical RPO's and zone reads.
denbrock had horizontal RPO's but many with the QB as the run option and NOT a RB like most RPO's. he also ran zone reads.

Ruggiero, Grubb, and Sloan seem to be the top 3 targets.
Before Denbrock came Ruggiero was heavily in the mix for the OC job.

This is BKs offense just like it is Sabans Defense at
ALABAMA. Who ever BK hires will do what he wants. He is
not like Les when it comes to playcalling.

Is that Angelo Quack Quack Ruggiero’s son with the Gambino’s? Or related to Lefty Ruggiero who brought Donnie Brasco into the Bonano family?

One of my friends coaches high school ball and he came in to recruit one of his players. Vibe he got is he’ll coach a few more years at Wake and retire. He has a pretty low stress gig and Clawson just got them all raises on his staff when he flirted with Virginia Tech a few years ago
